Cleo again wouldn't stop pestering me
HAPPY CLEO?!?!?!?!?!?
Maria instructed Alaina to sit in a chair, it was covered in wires and had a head piece attached to the top.
Miles stood beside me, entwining his fingers into mine, "are you sure about this?" he whispered, "no, but we need to know if there's a faster way to take down the HNS" I whispered back, "we can't have anyone else die because of me", he came around to face me "it's not your fault, ok, we are going to get through this" he said, pulling me into a hug and whispering to me that he loved me and everything was going to turn out all right.
"All set up" said Maria, who'd taken a step back to admire her handy work. Alaina had the headpiece strapped to her head, but she still looked determined, not wanting to back out.
"Last chance" said Ben, he still wasn't happy with the idea, "I'm going through with this Ben" Alaina said "you need to just have faith and trust Maria, she knows what she's doing".
He didn't reply, instead he left the room calling back to say he was going to his computer.
Maria started up the machine and Alaina passed out. I bit my lip, so hard that it drew blood, Miles squeezed my hand tightly and leaned his head on mine.
The screen Maria was standing in front of flashed, as if information was popping up.
Alaina let out a scream, it was bloodcurdling and deafening, "there it's done" said Maria moving towards my little sister.
I detached my hand from Miles's, and ran to Alaina's side, she was still yelling.
Maria removed the headpiece and Alana started crying, "shh shh, it's over, it's done", Ben had come sprinting into the room, his face painted with panic, "what's going on, is everything ok?", "Everything's fine, it just hurt her when her memory jolted" Maria told him.
Alaina stopped crying and blinked a few times, before saying, "wow, I can- I can remember everything, I know what happened".
We all started clapping and praising Maria for her work.
"Do you remember where you were kept?" I asked, "only vaguely" she replied, "it looks abandoned", "well that's a start" said Ben, "maybe go home, sit down and write a list of things that are a vital source of useful information from your memory" suggested Maria.
"That's a good idea" said Alaina, "let's do it".
After thanking Maria again, we went to leave, but she stopped us quickly, "Celine, I have a theory about what happened earlier, you know the pain, I say that won't be the last time it happens, you need to be very careful" she said, "I understand, I'll make sure I am" I replied, giving her a quick hug before joining the others in the car.
On the way home Alaina wouldn't shut up about all the details of the abandoned place, she insists the HNS HQ is located.
When we thought she'd stopped, she found another detail to talk about, "ugh, save it for the piece of paper!" We all cried.
That was when she went quiet, "not that we don't like the sound of your voice-" Ben started, "SHUT UP!" Me and Miles yelled.
The rest of the car ride home was silent.
I placed dinner on the table, and pulled out my seat to sit down.
Alaina was still frantically scribbling things on her piece of paper (she'd been there for about an hour) and despite being on the PS, Ben watched her the whole time.
