Chapter 1

8 years later. . . . . . . . . . . .

I had come back from training, wearing a black sports bra and black tights. I parked my Tesla (which I had brought with my inheritance) .

I climbed out and there in the front yard of his house was Miles.

"You're outside!" I exclaimed "that's a surprise".

"Oh shut up" he said.

I rolled my eyes "Happy Birthday by the way" I said.

He smiled "thanks".

We were both silent for a second, "well hopefully I'll see you later" I said before turning to go inside.

An hour later after I'd showered and changed there was a knock on the door, I ran to answer it.

It was the postie. He handed me a giant box, "thank you" I said, reaching into my pocket and handing him $20 dollars.

He looked shocked, "keep it" I said before bidding him goodbye.

Then I spent the next 30 minutes wrapping the giant box.

At 1:30 I headed next door to Miles's house and knocked on the door.

It was answered by Arthur , his dad.

I showed the box and he nodded and let me in.

I entered the living room and there was Miles, Ben, Anthony, Finn and Reuben.

"What are you doing here?" Miles asked curiously, "Well it's your birthday so I thought I'd get you a present" I told him, revealing the box.

His expression changed immediately, "what the hell is that!?" he exclaimed, "well that's for you to find out" I said placing the box in front of him.

He hesitated for a moment before peeling the wrapping paper off.

"No way, you have got to be kidding me, a fucking PS 6".

His dad came in and handed me another box which I handed to Miles, "and here are 4 controllers", he stood up and embraced me in a tight hug.

I patted his back awkwardly and after pulling said, "I suppose I should go now".

"No" said Miles, but realised how 'eager to have me stay' he sounded and quickly added "you know how to set this up right?" " yes" I replied, "well you could stay and help us set it up" he said "please".

"Alright, fine," I said.

For the next 2 hours they spent their time playing and me sitting on the couch telling them how to use the controllers.

After the party I had been going back and forth from the sleepout cleaning up their rubbish, I went back a third time and Miles had set the plates on the desk.

"Thanks a lot for that, you don't know what it means to me" he said, "your welcome" I said, "just, how did you afford it?" he asked, "Miles if I told you how I got the money to afford that, you would be covering me in your sympathy" I told him "but-" he started "end of conversation" I said reaching for the plates.

But as I was reaching for them I stopped, because I could feel Miles's eyes on me.

I turned to look at him.

His eyes were following me and I didn't realise that he was reaching for my waist.

He pulled me in and placed his lips on mine, moving them slowly.

I was startled at first but without hesitation reached up and looped my fingers in the strands of his hair.

The pleasure in my stomach became stronger and left butterflies swirling around.

The kisses deepened and grew faster, and soon we ended up on the couch, my legs around his waist, his hands in my hair.

A long while later I lifted my lips off his, and looked into his blue eyes.

"I-I should probably get the rest of the plates inside" I managed to say, he nodded and stood up letting me slip off him.

I picked up the last of the plates and left the sleepout walking out to the rubbish bins.

Miles left and walked through the sliding doors into the kitchen/dining area.

Arthur took one look at him and said "you kissed her didn't you?"Miles looked at his dad "no I made out with her on the couch" he corrected.

I walked back inside and Arthur looked at me and lifted one eyebrow.

I smiled and turned to Miles "I better head home" I said, "okay, thanks again for everything" he said leading me outside and walking me to my house.

When we were outside my front door Miles asked "does this make us a thing?" I smiled "I'd like that" I replied kissing his cheek and going Inside.
