Over the next few days, I continued to go to school (and kept an eye out for HNS members) and kept training.
Because my car was being repaired, I was driving around in my dad's car, taking my things to the new flat and helping Miles and Ben with their things.
"Phew, all done" I said, collapsing on the couch in a heap.
The other two just laughed at me, Ben picked up one of the cushions, and threw it at me.
"Hey!" I yelled, picking it up and throwing it back at him, I didn't miss, and it hit him in the face.
Later in the week I was still driving around in my dad's car, when my phone rang, it was Maria.
I paused before answering and putting her on speaker as I drove down Tennyson Street.
"What's up?" I asked "I got a report of an HNS member" she said "you're kidding me I- '' I was cut off by the sound of a gunshot.
My car came to a hard stop and I smacked my face against the steering wheel causing my nose to bleed, I screamed and desperately tried to unclick my seatbelt.
There was a second gun shot and then, the car exploded into flames, my head started spinning and my skin burned. Using the last bit of consciousness I had left, I opened the car door and rolled out onto the asphalt.
I was bruised, cut and bleeding, so I pulled out my gun which I kept in my pocket and shot the HNS member who was hiding in the bushes.
It didn't take long for him to drop dead, but enough time for him to shoot the hinges of the open car door, which then fell flat onto my legs.
Everything went black.
I woke up and was blinded by the bright white lights and deafened by the sound of yelling.
I tried to sit up but a nurse told me to stay laying down and went to help the other nurse who was being yelled at and I soon realised it was Miles who was yelling.
My body ached and the nurse from before came back and said that Miles demanded he see me and if I wanted to let him in.
I nodded slowly and she left the room.
He almost ran in, sitting on the stool next to my bed, gently wrapping his fingers around my hand and gently squeezing them.
"Celine ?" He whispered.
I smiled weakly. I saw him visibly flinch "they said you were in a car explosion, what happened?"
I went to speak but the pain that shot through my body made me cry out.
"Hey, hey , hey" he said, stroking my hair.
The next people to enter the room were my dad and Daniel.
"The doctors say that you are lucky to be alive" said Paul, "it was a really close call".
"I killed him" I said quietly "who?" Miles asked "the guy that shot my car into flames" I replied.
"He was an HNS member" Miles whispered "of course".
The realization hit, Maria had been on the phone with me when it happened and would have heard the whole thing, the screaming, the shots, everything.
I began to cry and put my hands to my face.
They were all alarmed, "what is it!? What's wrong!?"
"Maria" I cried "what! What about her? ' said Daniel, "she was on the phone with me telling me there was an HNS member who was reported and she heard the whole thing" I said gasping for air, I was still in excruciating pain.
I passed out again, and all I could hear was the desperate cries of Miles and my family.
