I gasped and took a step back raising my hands slightly, "woah OK I'm not here to hurt you, I was just lying about the phone call, I don't even have my phone on me, I just wanted to see what you'd do" I say making eye contact. He was silent for a while, he didn't drop his guard but I could tell he was debating whether or not I was a threat. "My names y/n y/l/n, I didn't mean to scare you, you just weren't saying anything so I thought that would make you move, turns out I was right" I say smiling nervously while eyeing his sword. "I was not afraid, I do not fear anything" he boasts lowering his sword slightly. I smile slightly, "do you have a name?" I ask with curiosity, ever since I first saw an autobot on tv I had always dreamt of meeting one, sure this wasn't exactly how I imagined it going but it could be worse. "I am drift" he finally responds after a minute. Deciding I'm not an immediate threat he lowers his sword fully but keeps on guard, his eyes shifting around the junkyard waiting for some sort of attack.
"Drift..." I repeat to myself, he looks over listening, I smile, "it suites you." Obviously not used to humans being so friendly towards him he looks confused for a second before deciding to put away his sword completely. "Oh and thanks for helping me out back there with the cops, I appreciate it" I say looking over to where the cops left. He looks over too, eventually looking away and deciding to sit down on a rusty pickup truck, the metal bending with his weight. "Why are you in hiding?" He asks looking over to me. I look over to him and let out nervous laugh, "Well I kinda hacked into a military satellite and got caught" I say avoiding eye contact. He looked puzzled "Why would you do that?" I kept quiet for a second, debating whether or not to tell him, maybe if I did he'd trust me a little more. Besides he did help me out, it's only fair I answer his question.
"Well I keep seeing all over the news about how alien robots are all evil and they need to be hunted down but i know they're all wrong..." I say walking over to a car, drifts eyes never leaving me. "I was in Chicago when everything happened, I saw autobots and decepticons fighting each other, autobots risking their lives to keep humans safe" I add, looking down trying to rid my mind of what I saw, shaking my head to clear my thoughts, i sat on the hood of the car, "I guess I was just sick of seeing so much hate towards the ones that tried to help. I hacked the satellite because I figured it may have some info about where 'meteorites' aka you guys may have landed on earth" I tucked my knees up to my chin and wrapped my arms around them, "I dunno I guess I thought maybe if I could find one of you I could help set things right, show the world you're not the bad guys" I mutter resting my head on my arms. "It's stupid i know" I whisper hoping he didn't judge me to harshly. "It is not stupid, it's a noble thing what you're doing, risking so much for something you truly believe it, I believe that is called bravery" he speaks calmly. Shocked by his words I look up to him to find he's already looking down at me with a soft smile. I smile back "yeah, I suppose you may be right" I add. Neither of us say anything more and we just sit there enjoying each other's company.A yawn escapes my lips as tiredness finally sets in breaking the peaceful silence between the two of us. "Well I suppose I should get some sleep tonight, can't be on the run if I've go no energy to actually run" I say chuckling to myself. Drift let's out a small hum in agreement. I get up and head over to the building I was originally going to sleep in, I look back before I reach the door, "goodnight drift" I say with a tired smile. And with that I headed inside, but not without hearing a quiet "goodnight y/n" I smiled and then started looking for somewhere to sleep.
I found a decent enough sofa I could probably get some sleep on. It had a few holes in and was missing two of its cushions but I could make do with it. After a bit of searching I found an old sheet used to cover cars with in a cupboard and with a few shakes to get the dust off it was good enough to sleep in. I got as comfy as I could and let out a final yawn slowly drifting of to sleep. The thoughts of drift most likely being gone in the morning scratching at the back of my mind. Pushing them aside I finally let the darkness take over and fell into a dreamless sleep.
So i know this one was shorter than the first one and kinda rushed but it's like 2am and I'm just tryna get the ball rolling at the moment
Should have better chapters later on tho so don't worry
Anyway hope you enjoyed and i hope to update soon
