Omen pranced in with his head held high.
"Hmm," He started. "Well! What are you doing just sitting there and staring? Get lost!"Moons above! Stormchaser thought.
"This is my room," She snarled.
"Ha, funny! I can't believe you would say that. Quickthought said it is my bedroom, so it is my bedroom," Omen sneered. "You wouldn't disobey your mother, now, would you?"
Ha, she probably can't even gather the confidence to! Omen gave her an arrogant glare.
He knows I can read his mind! He didn't even try to shield his thoughts.
Stormchaser stormed out of her bedroom and slammed the door behind her.
My bird!
She turned back to the door. It was locked! That slimy toad locked the door on me! She snarled. She would just have to hope that Omen didn't find her bird."Yes it was me, do you think he just disappeared? That soft mouse was a nuisance anyway," Stormchaser heard her mother snicker from the dining room.
"That's why I love you!"
"Erebus! Stop it. You flatter me!"
Yuck! Like I want to listen to That! She sneaked past Quickthought and Erebus and carefully opened the door so that no one would hear her. She flew to a nearby cave that she often sheltered in.

"Ha Ha! You can't catch me!"
"Oh, yes I can!" Stormchaser growled playfully. She can't hide for long!
She stalked through the trees, careful not to step on any dry leaves or sticks. She followed the flattened forest leaves and grass to a cave.
She peaked inside. The cave was lush, vines hung from the ceiling, moss grew on the floor, mushrooms and ferns crowded the edges and glow-worms littered the roof.
A sliver of bright white stood out against the verdant greenery. There she is.
She crept into the cave, moved towards the white and pounced.
"Found you, Lightning!" She called triumphantly.
"Yes, yes, you did, well done Stormchaser," Lightning gazed at her little sister, her eyes filled with pride.
I knew this cave was helpful! Stormchaser heard in Lightning's head.*
"You knew about this cave before, didn't you?" Stormchaser asked.
"Hey! I thought we said no more reading each other's minds!" Lightning smiled mischievously, " but yes, I found this cave a couple years before you hatched. I call it my forest cave."
Forest cave? Stormchaser started giggling.
"What?! I was only 2!"
"Why don't we think of a different name? Together this time?" Stormchaser suggested, her blue eyes wide open.
" Do you have any Ideas?"
" Lush Retreat!" Stormchaser answered.
"I like that," Lightning smiled. "It can be our hideout, we can come here whenever we need to escape from mother!"
Again, Stormchaser giggled. " yes."***
Stormchaser sighed. Those were the good days, the days that were filled with fun. Those days were over now, now Lightning was gone, and Sleet too. Now Quickthought was marrying a new dragon, one who is a stuck up as her.
Nothing will be the same. At least I have one friend.
A picture fell into her mind of the bubbly lilac dragonet she met the night before.
Stormchaser curled up on a moss and fern nest, and slowly drifted off to sleep.
