It's almost Hana's birthday, yet still i don't have any ideas what to give for her birthday present. I took my phone on the table and start searching ideas on Google. Necklace - too girly, novels - she hates reading, phone - too expensive. i opened every website that came out, but still, nothing's fit on her. Sighing in frustation, i locked my phone and put it back on the table.

"Oi Tsumicchi, is there something wrong?" Ryouta patted my back. "Don't pat my back that hard, Ryouta. I'm not a basketball" I glared at him. Perks of being a basketball player's cousin, he didn't even know how to differences between people and a ball.

"Eh? Gomen, I was just curious, you seemed that you're out of solution for your problem" he shrugged and took the waffle maker out from the cabinet.

"Wait, Ryouta!!" He turned his head towards me. "Uh, can I ask for your help?" I asked him unsurely.

"What is it, Tsumicchi?" He asked, looking curiously. "Well, Hana's birthday is next week, yet still I haven't buy her anything for her present." I told him, staring at the floor, embarrased of my confession.

"Meeh? She's your best friend! How come you haven't got her a present?" Ryouta looked surprised.

"I know! Please help me Ryouta! You've been stalking her for months! Even though I'm her best friend, she's different."

"Besides, I saw you two together at the park nearby last week" I wiggled my eyebrows, making him blush.

"Ii-it's not what you think! We were just talking about the school project, besides It's not like I'm having a crush over a stubborn girl like her" He denied. Dearest Ryouta, I know the fact that you're starting to act like a tsundere, you can't lie to your own cousin.

"Yeah, whatever. But please, help me?" I pouted, giving him my tempting puppy eyes.

"Tsumicchi, your puppy eyes didn't work on me" He teased me, giving me his puppy eyes as a revenge. "No offense, but this is what people called as puppy eyes".

Being Ryouta Kise's closest cousin is one of the most difficult things I have to face in my life. Beside the fact that he is one of the most talented (and good looking) basketball player in this decade, he's one of the most successful young model in Japan. And the most annoying part is when tons of his fangirls trying to be my friend, which is the only way they could stalk Ryouta more.

Fangirls these days.

"But please Ryouta, It's not like I ask for your help everyday"

"Pfft, fine Tsumicchi. I'll think about it." He rolled his eyes, entering the living room with a plate of waffle he just made.

Hana Kagome, a blonde haired girl who has been my best friend since 5. She's a tomboy-ish type girl, always wore jeans and T-shirt, never owned a single skirt on her closet (exept her school uniform skirt, obviously). Everytime she had her free time, she always asked Ryouta to accompany her to play basketball. And lucky Ryouta for always had the chance to be close with his crush.

Hana is the opposite type of me. I'm Kohana Natsumi, the president of Teiko Middle School student council (the scary one, in Ryouta's opinion), the girl who always wear skirts, stay up late just to read lame romance novels, wishing that someone would be my romance.

But then, no one's interested on me.

I don't know what's the problem with it. I mean, most of the girls on novels who got a hot yet romantic boyfriends are the girly ones, like me.

I'm such a pathetic.

But still, the more pathetic I am, the more I'm wishing for it.

...

"Good morning Natsumi-chan!! " Hana, the birthday girl cheered in happiness, running towards me like an athlete looking. She wore her uniform she just customized it to look more tomboy-ish (idk how she could beg to our principal), her favorite Nike sport shoes, plus the denim jacket that she tied around her waist.

"Good morning too birthday girl!" I hugged her tightly, making her out of breathe.

"Na-natsumi-chan, I c-can't breathe" I released her as she tried to inhale the oxygen as many as she could.

Not forgetting the birthday present I - with Ryouta's help, have made for her, I placed it inside a green colored box [she always told me that she needed a green (her favorite color) box to keep her stuffs organized] , plus the white ribbon that made the box cuter. The bell rang as she tried to open her present, she promised she'll be with me during lunch.

I went inside my classroom before the teacher came in. The first subject was Biology, which I hated the most. Despite the sensei is known as the kind one, but again, biology isn't the subject I can handled, adding the pressure of this class I'm in - 3-A, which means all the smartest students are nesting here. And the fact that my well known bright smiled cousin, Ryouta, was in the same class as me.

"Today we're going to do some research about the human's respiratory system, please made a group consist of three." I sighed as I rested my head on the table, trying to get some sleep. Last night was a tiring one, I was finishing my report plan about the school's festival, which would be held next month.

"Tsumicchi, have you got a group yet?" I shook my head as a response, being lazy I am.

"Well it's settled! You'll be in our group then" Ryouta patted my head, grinned as always.

"Ryouta! I didn't even agree to work in a group with you, and I believe there are lots of girls there who's wishing to be in the same group as you" I defended myself, glaring at him. Ryouta closed his eyes and let out a sigh.

"Tsumicchi, stop acting like you don't even care about your grades. I know you are tired because of what you did last night, but Tsumicchi, please understand."

"Besides, Akashicchi won't be happy to hear your desicion" he whispered the last part, leaving me shocked. I turned my head to Akashi, who has staring at me for God knows how long.

He smiled at me innocently, but somehow his heterochromia eyes stared at mine with something bad behind it.

"Fine, I'm in" I uttered, knowing that it was a bad desicion.

...

Akashi told Ryouta and I that we will do our group task tomorrow after school, at the cafe near his mansion. That cafe he was referring to, is one of the most expensive cafe in town.

Tch, typical rich young master.

I leaned my back on the wall, waiting for Hana who hasn't came out from her class. Well for Ryouta - I expected him surrounded by his fangirls right now.

No offense, Ryouta.

"Natsumi-chan! Sorry for making you wait. This math sensei was getting on my nerves, you could've left me if I didn't stop her explaining those nonsense 'x' and 'y's" She apologetically smiled at me as she had her arms folded in front of her chest.

"Nah, it's okay. Let's just eat already! I'm freaking hungry!!" I grabbed her right wrist, pulled her as I ran towards the cafeteria.

"S-stop Natsumi-chan. You do't need to pull me that way" She released her hand as she panted for air, then pouted at me.

"Aww, Hana, don't pout at me like that, it's your birthday. Besides lunch's almost o-" The unusual crowd inside the cafeteria stopped me.

The hell?

"Excuse me, what's going on?!" I shouted as loud as possible, heads turning at my direction as a respond. They knew my voice, the president of student council's voice.

They started walking away from me with fears surrounded them, giving me the way to the reason of this crowd.

I went inside the cafeteria as my cheerful aura changed into the aura that people least wanted to see, giving them death glares everytime they started whispering.

Far from the crowd, I spotted a red haired guy with Teiko basketball jacket hanging on his shoulders, swinging his scissors on his fingers as he went out from the cafeteria.

"Kise-kun!!" Hana shouted as she - and I, saw Ryouta fell unconscious, with bloods dripped from his neck.
