I could recognize those wet curls anywhere. It was him; he was alive. A wave of a thousand emotions hit me at all once. Anger, relief, excitement, all of it.

"ALI, YOU-"

He quickly shushed me, closing the door behind him.

"You're finally home..." I said in a hushed tone.

He sat down next to me, pulling me onto his lap.

"Listen, baby, I know it's been a long week but I'm afraid that we can't rest just yet," he pulled me into a hug.

"Ali, you're scaring me..." I let out, letting my head rest on his chest.

I could hear his heart beating quickly and aggressively. He must've run all the way here; in the rain. I struggled in his arms attempting to stand up, but he just held onto me tighter.

"Please, let me get you some dry clothes. You're freezing."

Despite my pleads, he kept his arms around me. It wasn't that I didn't enjoy being back in his arms, it was that he seemed so panicked. I wanted to figure out what was wrong. I slowly wrapped my arms around him, giving in and sitting in his lap for however long he wished.

An hour had passed before he had finally let go. I took the chance to get up and get him new clothes.

"Are you going to tell me what the hell is going on or not" I questioned him as he changed.

"I finally did it" he let out a relieved sigh.

Although I couldn't see him, I could hear the smile on his face.

"What are you talking about? You did what," I folded and set his damp clothes on the floor next to the backdoor since there was no point in hanging them up in the rain.

"You and I are finally going to be able to live comfortably, baby!"

I slightly tilted my head, "and how are we going to do that? Honey, you know I adore you to the moon and back but you don't even have enough money for lights."

He looked up at the single lightbulb in the ceiling, seeming to think about something. He opened a cupboard and pushed around, searching for something.

"Aha," he pulled out a lightbulb.

Taking a step-stool and pulling it under the light, he switched the bulbs, filling the room with light.

"Hey, the light's back on," his smile was still plastered across his face.

The sight of him in full lighting hit me like a ton of bricks. His face was covered with scratches and he had grown a 5 o'clock shadow. Now I was even more worried. Yet he evaded every question I threw at him. Soon he had started to pack things. I was starting to get frustrated with him.

"TELL ME WHAT IS GOING ON" I screamed at him, desperate to get an answer.

All he did was turn at look at me, his eyes sparkling with excitement. I was at my last straw, the only thing I knew would break his silence. I started to cry, babbling about how he wouldn't talk to me. He quickly dropped my stuff in a suitcase and rushed over to me, hugging me.

"Please don't cry. Just trust me, okay? You know I wouldn't do anything to hurt you" he cooed before kissing my head gently.

Before I knew it we were on an almost empty train, our suitcases in the seats next to us. I still had no idea what he was up to but I was too tired to care any longer. I was so sleepy yet sleep felt so far away. No matter how many times I had closed my eyes, my body jolted awake, earning a concerned glance from Ali. He went back to staring out of the window after making sure I was okay. I gave up trying to sleep and just admired him. His hair had dried and his curls has returned to their full volume. His jacket didn't have time to dry but as it was his only one, he wore it anyway. He had also shaved before we left, saying something about having a fresh start. Feeling the train shake from the worn-down tracks, I looked down at Ali's hand resting in my lap. I had both my hands gripped onto his. I hated train rides, they made me feel queasy. I'm not sure if it was the movement of the train or suddenly moving out of our home but I was sick to my stomach. Not like a throw-up sick but a nervous sick. So maybe it was the latter.

"Ali, please tell me" I begged one last time.

"I was able to get 145 billion won. I can't explain how but I promise there are no strings attached and it's ours forever," he explained.

I sat up, wondering if I had misheard him.

"You... 145...billion?"

"Yeah, no more struggling. I can finally get everything you deserve. I can't wait to see the look on your face when you see the place I already bought us."

My eyes widened when he confirmed what he had said.

"I... Oh fuck it, I don't care how you got it. I love you so much" I laid against him, rubbing my cheek against his shoulder.

He wrapped his arm around me and pulled me closer, kissing me passionately.

"I love you too, (Y/N)" he pressed his forehead against mine with a sigh.

I stared into his eyes as he stared into mine. I couldn't get over the fact that he was here with me again. The man I thought for sure would be dead. He was very strong and persistent so I wasn't sure why I doubted him.

I blushed as he kissed me again, this time for longer. The doubt and nervousness left my body as he broke away. His kisses always made me feel better; there was just something about them that was so comforting. Everything about him was comforting. His voice, his words, his body language, everything. He just screamed comfort. I thought back to our first night together. Despite spending it on an uncomfortable train, not unlike this one, he made me feel safe. He kept me distracted and happy, telling jokes and giving me endless hugs. If gift-giving wasn't his love language, then physical touch was. He loved giving hugs and kisses. He especially loved cuddling together on a cold, rainy night. He would get home from work late and wiggle his way under the sheets, grabbing onto me tightly. I think that was my favorite thing too. Just something about his touch felt so...right.

"Ali, I'm sleepy..." I whined softly.

"I know," he patted his lap, "go ahead and sleep, I'll make sure you're safe, okay?"

Okay sooooo that was a lot longer than I had first anticipated but I hope it was a satisfying endless anyway, thanks for reading!!! xx
