The plot shouldn't be overused. Yes, people that includes you doing the Wattpad current in thing or the permanent bad boy favourite. You need to bring some originality to keep readers.

Here 5 questions to put in author notes to interact with your audience
Ask who their favourite character is?
Ask questions like I'm putting together a song playlist for my characters what do you think would fit them?
Ask What's the best piece of advice you ever received as a writer?
What is your favourite genre?
Ask who is their favourite writer on wattpad or what is their favourite book? Why ask things like this? Because it gives readers a chance to talk about something they like without the question being overly personal.
