• following people because they have a popular book, you should be following people whose work you enjoy
• Expecting just because your story is good for it to get to 100k reads in a week. It won't. These things take time.
• Getting caught up in I'm only reading a book if it has an *insert number of reads* mentality. Go out and find those hidden gems so people can find your novel, which is a hidden gem.
• Avoid not interacting with your readers. Find creative ways to do so. (There will be a whole chapter on how to do this later on in the book)
• Avoid making comments, I'm a much better writer, and my plot is more interesting than *insert a popular book* it may or may not be true, but you don't need to say it publicly.
