Hoseok ends up staying long enough to grab a bite to eat, then he leaves in a hurry to get back to work. He made sure to call our boss and explain the back window, but after I told him my cousin would repair it, he felt better about knowing he wouldn't get ripped off.

It's been about an hour since Hoseok left the house, and I've been laying out on the couch since he walked out of the door. I can't very well do much since I'm stuck indoors until this whole mess blows over.

While flipping through the tv channels, the doorbell suddenly rings. I sit up from my spot, looking at the doorway with curious eyes. Jungkook should be coming back by now, but he would walk in.

Carefully, I stand and round the couch. Stepping toward the windows, I place my fingers in between the blinds and peek outside. When I see my lawyer's car, my nerves settle down.

I step towards the front door and open it quickly to let him inside. He doesn't waste a moment walking inside with his briefcase. He walks straight to the dining table and lays out some papers.

"I came offering good and bad news." He starts while taking off his long, brown coat and rolling up his white sleeves. "The good news is that you haven't been charged with anything, and you haven't been expelled from your university. The bad news is that people are digging for anything on you to bring you down, so I'm going to need every bit of information I can get on you."

"Bring me down?" I repeat his words while he takes a seat at the table.

"Investigators who are working for the public's safety as well as the victim's families. You have two different lawyers working against you and the public, so we need to work fast. I know your job, I know your college and current grades-"

"My grades? How is that relevant?" I defend, feeling like this is an overstep into my private life.

"It's relevant by showing up in court with decent information on you. It shows you're a good student who is dedicated to your education and that can very well work in our favor. It shows you're not a delinquent and don't get into trouble or have the time to do so. If they see your high grades, they will see how you have been studying hard and will understand that you don't have time to make good grades and live a whole separate life-the one where they believe you're connected to the beast."

I nod my head after seeing the connection.

"Okay, so I'm going to ask you very personal questions. First of all, I need to know more about your apartment details. You lied to your parents about renting a place and that piece of information can be twisted if we have to go to trial, which hopefully we won't."

I shake my head, still feeling uncomfortable that my whole life will be broadcasted to the world.

"I still don't see why I'm the one being targeted here. Why does everyone think I'm the bad guy? I don't understand." He sighs as if I've said this once way too many times, but it's the truth.

"Emiko, the public is scared, and they lash out at anything that could be the cause for their fear. You're the only person to ever have this happen to them, and you were present when those two girls went missing the other day... and we recently have more information regarding this case, too." My eyes meet his when I notice the stress in his tone.
