We make it out of the city on foot mere minutes before the sun sets for the day. We are exhausted at this point, but thankfully, we find a small motel right out of the city, which is perfect.
The price is high for two rooms, so we shared one. It's safer if we slept in the same room anyways, considering we have no clue who might be here with us. Police, investigators, or someone wanting to call us in.
Quietly, after Namjoon pays at the front desk, he unlocks the motel door, and we rush inside. He shuts the door and locks it, while I close the curtains and check around the room in case anything looks suspicious, which it doesn't, but hidden cameras in motels are a sick occurrence, so it's better if we don't say too much while staying here.
I walk over to Namjoon, grabbing a small card on the nightstand and a pen before writing on the back of it.
"Don't say anything in case of hidden cameras. The perverts who set them up will call the police on us for a pretty penny,"
I write the quick note and hand it to him, and he nods his head as if he didn't think about that.
The only reason I know to be so careful is because of my mother and father. When my parents used to bring me out to work with them, we would have to stay in motels if we couldn't make it back home, which happened a lot. My mother would never let me take a bath or undress in motels-we would only stay for a night anyway-because she didn't trust them, and now more than ever, her advice has come in handy for me.
If we're going to stay here, the chances of hidden cameras are high, but we don't know for sure, so our best bet is playing it safe.
"Are you tired?" I ask while watching him rip up the card into tiny pieces before tossing it into the small trash bin.
"Yes and no," he admits with a low sigh, throwing his legs onto the mattress of the single bed in our room.
I walk around the other side of the mattress, repeating his actions until I'm laying on the bed and staring at the ceiling, too.
"I'm exhausted, but at the same time, I don't think I can sleep," I admit. It's the same feeling I had earlier at Hoseok's place when I had to force myself to sleep.
"It's nerves," he mumbles, and I find my heart picking up when he suddenly grabs my hand, holding it comfortingly while laying beside me. However, he keeps his eyes ahead, still aimed at the ceiling. "Mine are a wreck, too,"
I smile a tad and feel the pressure of his fingers around mine, feeling the warmth they bring. It's odd, but it's okay, for right now at least.

It's only when a knock comes on the motel door that we each jerk our hands away and sit up in bed with our hearts pounding with adrenaline and nervousness all over again.
Namjoon stands from the bed, gently steps toward the door, and calls out.
"Who is it?" He deepens his voice, eyeing me cautiously while placing his finger over his lip.
"Who the hell do you think it is? Uhh, your best friend," I eye the door confused, but Namjoon's eyes narrow from the response.
