Twenty Eight

There were multiple twists and turns in the route that he had decided to take on  the road. The dimly lit road was at times illuminated by the street lamps that hung over the narrow road at every couple metres. The twisting trees on the edges of the road made the silence in the car all the more eerie. But to clarify, it was a comfortable silence being held in the car. Sanzu was focused on driving you to wherever he was taking you, and you were left guessing as to where he was taking you, the only hint being the outside scenery. You knew he was taking you somewhere to do with being outside, and being up higher than normal, as the road he took was on a hill. A sudden hand on your lap caused you to jolt upwards.

"No need to flinch, sweetheart~" he exclaimed, keeping one hand on the steering wheel and both eyes on the road ahead, side-eyeing you a couple of times on the straight stretch of road.

"You just surprised me, that's all," you stated, placing your own hand over his, lacing it together with your fingers. You rubbed your thumb over his hand and before you knew it, the car had slowed to a halt. It was completely dark, the only light source coming from the car headlights.

"Alright, we're here," Sanzu turns off the engine and removes the car keys, slipping them into his pocket. You take a quick glimpse outside the passenger seat window, but the car door swings open, as he extends his hand out to you. You grab his hand, and he immediately pulls you out, causing you to stumble forwards into his chest. "Whoops," He snarkily states, sending you a cheesy smile.

"You're such a jerk, you know that?" You exclaim, rolling your eyes as you push yourself off of his chest. He kept a firm grip on your hand, leading you further away from the car and towards wherever he was taking you to.

"I know," he utters, leading you. "But you love me~," He teases, suddenly stopping. He moves out of the way and reveals the sight in front of the two of you.

The trees beside the two of you were faintly catching the colours of the city lights, glowing green, red, white and yellow. The grass underneath your shoes made it hard to walk over, but it was so soft, it made you feel as if you were walking over clouds. Walking closer towards the edge, you grasped the railing with one hand, as the other was still connected to Sanzu's, and this time, you were leading him.

"What do you think?" He asks quietly, whispering into your ear. "Cute, huh?" You nod your head at his comment, as you turned your head to look at Sanzu's side profile. His face was also dimly lit with the city lights, the forefront of his face shining. His ocean eyes glowed brightly as his eyes were dilated, trying to take in as much light as he could. Your eyes ran from his eyes, to the sharp bridge of his nose, to his pale skin on his cheek to his thin lips, decorated beautifully with the diamond scars on the corner. "Enjoying the view, sweetheart?" He plays with you, noticing your gaze on him.

"You are the view," you state sharply, as his cheeks flush a very faint shade of pink. You take in the dotting city lights over the edge of the cliff, eyes moving from left to right, following the movement of cars down below, or the blinking lights on the top of tall buildings. You squint your eyes, and you see the faint outline of the Bonten building, home. You turn your back to the view, leaning your weight back to the railing, gazing up at the starry sky, breathing out a relaxing long sigh.

You felt firm arms trapping you against the railing, blocking your view of the star littered sky. "What's up, babe?" You ask, looking deep into his eyes.

"Nothing," he grips at your waist tightly, pulling you into his body. He hunches his back a little, burying his head into the crook of your neck. You felt his warm breath against the skin of your neck, tickling your insides. You slid your own arms around him, snaking your arms into his coat, gripping at his vest tightly.
