The black car slowed to a halt at the auction venue. Adjusting your masquerade ball mask which was tied around the back of your head, you stepped out of the car, once the driver had opened the back door. Placing your foot on the concrete footpath, you stood up straight and tall. Turning your head back to the car, you watched as Ran, Rindou and Koko stepped out of the same car.
The auction was a formal event. If it was the normal auction, you would have just turned up with your suit. But today was different, as it was the hidden side of the auction, and needed to be approached with precaution since it was new ground for Bonten. For this specific reason, you were grateful that Mikey had ordered you to ditch the suit, as many women also arrived after you, attached to their partners, with masquerade ball masks in flowy designer dresses.
"Shall we go in?" Koko spoke in his usual tone of voice, observing the others around us. Koko had changed from his usual red tunic, highlighted with yellow, into a burgundy designer suit contrasting well with his long white hair.
"Let's go," You answered, climbing up the steps into the main doors, with the men following behind you. For this event, Mikey had made you wear a dress to fit the environment. You were wearing a slim black low cut dress, that showed the Bonten tattoo with clarity. This dress fitted you perfectly, as it trailed against the floor lightly, moving from side to side with every step you took. You had made sure to change your hairstyle, tying the bleached half into a bun at the back of your head, wrapping the string of the masquerade mask around it to secure it properly. This dress had a thigh split, dangerously close to the end of your legs. This dress came with its disadvantages too. Although it enabled you the full range of motion just in case something was to happen, there was nowhere to hide your gun if you were to need it. You had given it to Ran for the time being for safekeeping, but you did feel a little empty without it.
Ran and Rindou had no change to their usual outfit, with their teal and lavender coloured suits, ties matching their hair colour. You realised the true purpose as to why Mikey had chosen these three to accompany you. With this dress on, all four of you were representing the Bonten criminal organisation, as all four of you had your tattoo on show. Of course, there was nothing to worry about, especially for the cops, as all other members entering this auction were of some relations with other gangs or criminals.
Walking in through the main doors of the auction building, there were instant whispers amongst the crowd.
"Hey, isn't that-"
"Shush, they'll hear you!" You turned your head in their direction, just to mess with them, as they instantly radiated fear and terror and walked in the other direction away from you.
"Bonten!" Another whispered in shock. Ignoring their comments, the four of you walked together in silence to the far end of the building, where two security guards were watching everything going on. They eyed the badged that you had pinned onto the front of your clothing. One of the security guards seemed to be aware of the commotion going on and raised an eyebrow.
"Bonten?"
"Yes?" You answered, looking up at him to meet his glance.
He looked around for a while before speaking the instructions to head to the other auction. "Enter through these doors like the others. When you get inside, there is a bar. Ask for a black coffee, in your case, four. The bartender should lead you to your seats. A free drink is also given."
"Enjoy," The other security guard said, pushing the doors open.
You walked in through the doors with the boys following behind you, as you made your way straight to the bar. You immediately noticed a faint smell in the air, a little too familiar.
