Sam was sat on the wall of the fire escape holding the railing. And none other then Marissa benson was sat on the garden chair out there.

Marissa- so your pregnant

Sam- yeah

Marissa- your scared

Sam- yeah

Marissa- who's is it

Sam- Freddie's

Marissa isn't angry.

Marissa- really

Sam- he's the only boy I've been with.

Marissa- you know I was your age when I had Freddie

Sam- really

Marissa- yeah

Sam- that's why your not getting angry

Marissa- exactly we used protection and it didn't work it happens

Sam- yeah I'm on birth control and I didn't know it didn't work all the time

Marissa- yeah but I know how you feel your scared worried

Sam- yeah

Marissa- are you and Freddie gonna get back together

Sam- no.

Marissa- why not

Sam- he can go somewhere in life he can get into MIT and get a crazy good job and I'm not gonna be the one that gets in the way of that

Marissa- but he's the dad

Sam- and I'm not stopping him being one I'm just not being the reason he doesn't accomplish as much as he can in life cause he's crazy smart

Marissa- he can still do that with children

Sam- this is Freddie we're talking about hes too nice he'll drop everything so he can be the best dad ever and I don't want him to do that

Marissa- but what about your future

Sam- come on we both know I'm going nowhere in life.

Marissa-  I used to be like you

Sam- I find that hard to believe

Marissa- I don't have a criminal record but I didn't care about school I used to get in trouble a lot I've smoked pot before I've gotten drunk I'm sure you have too

Sam - yeah

Marissa- and when I got pregnant I was still with Freddie's dad and when I gave birth to him everything changed I worried to much about whether what I was doing was right or not I went a little crazy and when Freddie was 5 his dad left he's still in contact with him but he just said he wanted to love his life not being held back.

Sam- hmm

Marissa - what happened to your dad

Sam- he didn't care when we were 4 he left said he was getting milk and he never came back I don't even know where he is what he's doing his name nothing.

Marissa- it hurts right

Sam- yeah I thought it was my fault he left

Marissa - that's the same with Freddie he thought his dad didn't love him he did he just wanted different things

Sam- me and Freddie want different things he wants to be some tech smart kid ceo of something I didn't know what I want I haven't even thought of my future

Marissa- yeah but in the last year of school I knuckled down revised none stop and i passed all my gsces and became a nurse

Sam- how long did you have

Marissa- 13 months

Sam- right But I know nothing at all words are a big mumbo jumbo maths confusing as hell science boom goes the chemicals If you mix two of the wrong things together history what's the point in that and geography what's so interesting about the world

Marissa- I'm not gonna try and convince you to get back together with Freddie I just want you to think about your future and try hard

Sam- I will thanks mrs b

Marissa- it's alright

Marissa stands up and offers her arms and Sam stands up and accepts the hug. The two separate and walk inside bumping into the others

Marissa- you scared me you guys okay

Carly hands Sam the sonogram Sam stares at it

Sam- it's tiny

Marissa- twins run in your family

Sam- I'm a twin

Marissa- right
