Loveless Lover
You were like a drug to me
You got me high.
You set me free
You helped me fly.
You helped me to run
And never look back.
You were the only one
Who kept me on track.
You helped me see
You helped me shine through.
You showed me who I could really be
You made me feel like new.
You pulled me up
Just as soon as you brought me down.
And like a little lost pup
I followed you around.
You told me lies
And I told you truth.
It should have been no surprise
That I’d been duped.
Just like before
My heart is broke.
To you it was nothing more
Than a harmless joke.
News flash, hun
It wasn’t so harmless.
Now you were the one
Who sent my heartbeat amiss.
I thought it was to always be
Forever you and me.
But gone is the dream of forever
And into the story of my loveless lover.
