Paul looked at Fiona who just sat there. She looked numb. He wanted to make all of her pain just stop, but he couldn't.
"Why were you so scared when I walked in here?" Paul asked.
"Shit!" Fiona cussed. She stood up and tugged at the roots of her hair. Paul followed her up and looked at her concerned. "He's outside. He's going to kill everyone. He had a gun. This is all my fault," Fiona frantically said. Paul grabbed her arms.
"Nothings going to happen, I promise." Paul said. Fiona was trying to run out the door. "Hey, relax for a moment, I've got a plan," He said.
"You're going to kill him, aren't you?" Fiona pleaded.
"No, I won't I promise." Paul said. Fiona attempted to take deep breaths.
The duo made a plan. Fiona wiped the tears off her face and made herself look as if she didn't mentally breakdown. Paul had told the gaurds to be on alert.
Fiona walked out front, waiting for Jayden to appear. Fiona went to text him but he appeared infront of her. He towered over her angrily. Then he raised his arm and punched her in the jaw.
Fiona stumbled back, almost falling. Before Fiona could recenter her gravity 6 armed men stood infront of her. Creating a wall. They pointed a gun at Jayden who was being detained by three people. They took the gun out of his waistband. Jayden was screaming.
"Tell them I'm your boyfriend, Fiona! You love me, right? Fiona!" Jayden begged. Jayden was kicking his legs but a gaurd kicked him in the balls. Paul appeared next to Fiona and checked her face. Blood trickled from her lip.
Paul dismissed the wall of men and they stood infront of the wailing teen. Paul kneed him in the balls and he stopped moving.
"Ashlynn, please!" Jayden pleaded. Paul grabbed his gun from his holdter and pressed it to his forehead.
"Who is she?" Paul said to Jayden. Fiona crossed her arms tears coating her cheeks. "Speak!" He ordered.
"F-fiona?" Jayden said. He was scarred. Fiona snickered slightly at his fear.
"And my daughter. You made a big mistake fucking with my family. She's the only reason you're alive. Take him," Paul ordered. The men picked him up and carried him away. Paul looked at Fiona who had a wicked smile on her face.
"You're gonna fit in here perfectly," Paul said tapping her shoulder.
Fiona smiled weakly before glancing at the sky. The stars danced above her. Her long hair brushed lower on her calves. Her face trimmed into a grin at the beautiful sight. She asked for peace. This is her peace. Nobody could change that.
Fiona caught herself laying on the bench outside an hour later, just memorizing all of the stars. All the sizes and the shapes they could make. Her hair dragged into the dirt but she never cared. She memorized the patterns. She got so lost in her mind she never noticed Jonas standing there.
"Oh, Hi." Fiona said sitting up. She wipped her hair to her lap.
"Hey. Your hair was on the ground, by the way," Jonas mentioned. Fiona chuckled. She motioned for him to sit next to her. He did, softly afraid of startling her.
"I already knew, but thanks," Fiona said as Jonas sat next to her. He smiled, weakly.
"I know things are awkward, but I'm really happy you're back home. Even if you don't remember me. I've missed you. You know that, right?"
"I mean apparently if you have to bother me right now," Fiona snickered.
"Seriously?" He said, rubbing his hand on his nose.
"I'm sorry! I was only jokin-" Fiona started but was cut off by his laughter. "You're a rat!"
"You haven't changed. In ten years, you haven't changed."
"In all seriousness, I'm glad to be here to," She added, attaching a warm smile.
"Fiona?"
"Yeah?"
"I can sense something in you is about to burst. Don't push yourself too hard, please. Though things will be different, you have family here now." He said. He matched my warm smile.
"I'm fine, Jonas. There's no reason for you to worry."
"I'm not worried."
"Good."
"Good then!" Jonas snickered. Fiona smiled slightly refraining from laughing.
"So, you're on summer vacation still, right?" Fiona asked, curiously.
"Yes, but we start back up next week. Why?"
"Shit! Y'all really have a different schedule then my school did. I just got out a month ago. I guess a short break for me." She said fake crying.
"Yeah, I guess it is kinda early. You'll be fine. It's senior year."
"I'm a junior," Fiona said. Jonas tilted his head confused. I turned my head laughing.
"I'm just kidding. Yes, it is senior year. But I'm a AP student."
"So is Poppi. You'll be fine!" Jonas said with enthusiasm.
"Who?"
"My girlfriend. The one you met earlier." He said, shaking his head.
"I know."
"Then why did you ask?" He asked dramatically.
"Cus' I can, Rat!"
Jonas laughed tossing his head back. Fiona snickered smiling at him. He looked as if he was crying. He laughed too hard.
"Alright, Miss. Childs is waiting for me. I'll talk to you tomorrow. Goodnight, Fi." Jonas asked. She smiled at the new nickname. Better than the old one.
"Fifi!" Ashlynn yelled, calling for Fiona's attention. Fiona snapped her head to her best friend slowly.
"Yeah?" She asked taking her earbuds out.
"You're being a freak right now! Give me your earbuds, please! You know how important to keep out image up is to me!" Ashlynn cooed. Fiona frowned, and unplugged her earbuds. She handed them to Ashlynn. She appreciated how much she cared about her, but hated how needy she was.
"Sleep well," Fiona added as Jonas walked in the house. Shortly after, Fiona followed. She walked to her new room. With her new life. With a new side of family.
She smiled for the first time in awhile. She felt ontop of the world, until she got alone. The reality of today came crashing onto her, and she cried. Softly no sounds just tears down her face. You can't run from your pain for too long.
