Fiona slid her phone back in her pocket, ignoring the fear that spread through her mind. Poppi noticed the slight change in her mood and smiled at her to cheer her up. Fiona noticed Poppi and weakly smiled.
"Fi?" Paul called for his daughter's attention. Fiona looked at him, tilting her eyebrows in confusion.
"Yeah?" She responded.
"You, your brother, and Poppi are gonna stay here and talk for a little, alright?"
"Sure." She said, smiling at Paul. Not that she had much of choice. Poppi smiled at Paul as he walked away. Then Poppi's energy kicked in. Jonas smiled at his girlfriend's energy.
"OMG! Girl, you look so different!" Poppi said. Fiona bit the inside of her lip. They remember your past and you don't? Weak. "Come on sit!" Poppi clasped her arm around her wrist and dragged her to the sofa. Fiona pressed down tighter on her lip.
"Tell us about you! What's changed over these 10 years?" Jonas asked, joining the group. Fiona smiled weakly remembering the good times.
"And your pronouns! Don't forget to tell us your pronouns!" Poppi added. A small laugh left Fiona's lips.
"I use she/her pronouns. I sing. Not much more than that," Fiona said. Her voice was sharp. Poppi looked at Jonas and smiled.
"Sing us something," Poppi challenged.
"Uh, may I decline, please?" Fiona asked. Jonas started laughing.
"Dude, chill. There's no need to be so formal. We're family here. Poppi's just fucking with you." Jonas added. Fiona looked down.
"Oh, sorry," She whispered. Deep breaths. Don't cry.
Fiona couldn't help but overthink everything. Did she rush her decision just to satisfy her Dad's needs? Oddly enough, she felt at home. She did have millions of questions though and she kept them to herself. There's nothing important in what she has to say. Fiona started to fiddle with the ends of her hair and couldn't help but notice Poppi and Jonas whispering.
"Something happened to her. It's written all over her body language," Jonas whispered to Poppi.
"Bug, she just found out the last 10 years have been a lie. Give her a break," Poppi whispered back.
"My twin intuition is telling me something different," Jonas said focusing back on his twin. Fiona kept her eyes down, pretending to not notice the whispering. She didn't hear what was said but it still upset her slightly.
Fiona studied the teens in front of her. It amazed her the similar things between her and Jonas. They had the same eye, hair, skin, and lip color. Same with shapes. If Jonas were to be a girl, they'd be identical. The only main difference between the wins was size. Jonas is 6'4" so he towered over people. Especially Fiona. He is extremely muscular and his hair is neatly styled.
Poppi on the other hand is a stunning beauty. She has a round tanned face, unlike the twins' olive skin. She has dark brown curly hair that falls to the mid of her stomach. She has her hair dyed dark green on the ends. She is stunning. Poppi has freckles that dance across her face with dark brown eyes. Showing the deep depths of kindness.
Paul returned to the group a few seconds later and gave Fiona the tour, separate from Jonas and Poppi. Paul showed Fiona her bedroom and sent her there to unpack and relax for the night since she seemed exhausted. Fiona picked up the large suitcase and set it on the bed. She went to unzip it bur her phone started vibrating in her pocket. She tugged it out of her pocket and saw Jaydens name lighting up the screen.
Pressing the phone to her ear, she waited for a sound.
"What are you telling them, blondie? I swear to god, I'm going to kill everyone in there!" Jayden screamed through the line.
"Jayden, I haven't said anything! You have to believe me! Please, don't come in here!" Fiona pleaded. Fiona felt a tear slip down her face.
"So you can go and date that blond boy? Whose house is this, Ashlynn?"
"T-that's my brother, Jonas. I'm at my Dad's."
"So you ready for me to kill them?"
"What?! No!"
"Then meet me out here in ten minutes or I'm going to kill everyone, including you. Be smart about this, blondie. I have a gun." Jayden said, growling. Jayden hung up the line leaving Fiona sobbing. She ran her hands through her hair. A tear glistened down her face. For the first time in a while, she felt fear for others. In her panic, she didn't realize the door that flung open behind her.
"Hey, what happened?" Paul said, walking next to her. He attempted to hug her, but she shoved back. She quickly pushed the tears off her face.
"Nothing happened, okay?" She said, darting her eyes. Fiona tried to walk out the door, trying to rush to Jayden.
"Don't walk out the door, Fiona Rae Alexander," Paul warned her. Fiona froze, sniffling. Paul looked at her. Fiona kept her gaze to the ground until the impending break came to her. She broke. The tears wouldn't stop.
Fiona pressed herself closely. Her heart moved like it was racing and her chest caved into herself. Her breath felt stuck in her chest though her breath was rapid. Paul frowned at her sobbing. He grabbed her tightly as he grew angry. He glanced at her phone which had a new notification. He read the name, but couldn't make out the message. Jayden. Is he her boyfriend?
"I'm s-sorry," Fiona said. "I'm just so tired of everything!" She was shaking as she slipped to the ground. Paul sat next to her and rubbed her arm.
"What happened?" He asked. He was angry and wanted to avenge her, but he put his personal feelings aside.
"You'll be angry!"
"Fiona, I promise, I won't be angry!"
"Are you sure?"
"I am."
"I don't know how to start. It's too hard to say."
"Take your time. Nobody's rushing you." Paul said, extremely concerned. Fiona wiped her tears and took a deep breath.
"It's Jayden."
