"Golds only pretty when the colour is draining from your eyes."

"You're not... getting away with this, The Divine-."

"Shut up! Diveneness this, Your Divineness that! Just get back to crying for your life!"

"Damien, do you think I should get this or... that!"

It might've been childish of you to enjoy picking out a commoners book when you had all the Royal Libraries and God's Heaven, a library only the Priests can access, at your disposal but it was something that brought you back to the years when you didn't have to worry about being back-stabbed or killed. In your hands were two books, both with pretty covers that drew your attention.

'Grim Reaper's Demise' and 'Sauni's Respect', it was hard to choose, not like you didn't have the money too it was just part of the experience, so you relied on your nearest alley for help.

"Hmm... Let me see the second option again?"

You pass the worn down book to him, it had gone through the most use out of every other book you had passed by, but the blue wasn't as faded on the cover, pages, nor the spine mistreated, as someone would have expected. It was well taken care of, not a single page folded or ripped.

Damien, upon reading the title, stared at you as if you had gone mad.

"Sauni? Wasn't that what the Third was dubbed?"

"Yes but, it also means Reincarnation in White Kingdom's dialect."

He gives you a nod before placing the dust-covered book on a shelf and grabbing the simple black book to inspect it. 'Grim Reaper' was a popular book series in the surrounding areas, the Author, who remains anonymous since they've started writing, had gained quite a devoted fanbase and it was rare to find any of their books in stores without pre-ordering first.

Unfortunately, those books weren't the only thing with a large fanbase in the quiet little store you had found on your walk.

"Wha-!"

"Oh my god!"

"It's- It's-!"

You turn your head, in slight fear that you had been found on your day off, though you sigh in relief once you see your new favourite help. Abel was a little surrounded by women, all of them appearing to be in their older teenage years. A few butlers and maids standing to the side as their ladies blocked every escape for the plum-eyed male. Was he famous? He drew enough attention to himself that people completely ignored you, which was better than it sounded.

You gesture to Damien, who wasn't like Reaven- someone you knew and is yet to hate the flirty man, to disperse the crowd, and he obeys loyally.

Once your shorter then average knight pulls his steel from its protective gold plated belt the crowd listens to his request, as before he had they simply called him a child and other degrading insults towards the knight who's bonded to the Divine Priest.

Abel, who had just now noticed your existence, gives both you and Damien a sincere thanks. Damien mumbles under his breath, too quiet for you to pick up besides a few words.
"I... Bird... Rude... Rude... Rude."

You, choosing to ignore the mini monologue your alley was saying over and over again like a mantra, and smile at the girls who also just noticed your perfect form. Luckily, before they start crowding you, Damien chases them off with a glare, and you can converse with your nearly wine-eyed help and red-haired knight.

Abel starts the conversation after noticing the book in your hand, Damien had passed it back to you once you had given him a request.

"Grim Reaper's Demise? Didn't take you as a fantasy fan?"

"It's a bit surprising but I really do love a good fantasy."

Abel chuckles though it comes out more like a purr as he leans forward and his palm rests right underneath your collar bone, you can't help but expect Damien to stab him due to the look in his eyes.

"Well, what about a fantasy that includes a butler and someone very important?"

Before you could respond Abel is yet again thrown off you, this time much lighter and seems like a friendly push, though Damien's face is anything but friendly.

"Abel, what are you doing so far away from the temple?"

And this marks the start of the Red Eyes Vs. Red Hair showdown.

"Well, Damy, I was looking for a certain fabric."

"Which?"

"It's from a further Kingdom, the Heavenly one. It's only available once a year."

You were growing restless quickly, when you thought there be a showdown, you thought it be a little more exciting, like the fight that happened not too long ago... though you can't remember who participated in that battle.

You just wanted to get a book, maybe some of those Blessed Strawberries that tasted like caramel.

Reaven liked caramel so you could...

Reaven.

Your bored slouching state quickly becomes rigid, and both of your 'employees' notice that your head begins to swivel, searching for your closest friend, how could you forget about him? The one always by your side, the one who cracked and cried for you?

"Where's Reaven?"

You sounded more worried than you intended, and both pick up on that, giving each other a side glance before also looking around for him. One looking less than frighted about your missing assistant though you don't catch it in your state.

"Well, he's not used to the outer town, right? Maybe he's just lost."

Red hair looking darker in areas and the male with such pretty hair hands are covered in gloves that you have never seen him wear before. Red eyes, that once swirled around your brain in a gorgeous tornado, now seeming much scarier than before.

"Why would he even care if you died?"

"..."

"Ahh? Have you finally died? Your certainly not human with how long that took."
