After refusing help from the man who drugged you, you were escorted to one of the Priest's many doctors. You didn't want to leave your sister alone with those two but a bleeding neck was more urgent than being overprotective, or more so not wanting her to kill you.
"Are you sure darling? I can fix you up~."
Why did the man have to follow you though?
You nod, you were sure you didn't want his help, especially after watching someone on the brink of murder become calm and submissive after drinking a 'potion'. You knew where the doctors were, you used to live here after all! You didn't need him leading you, and you didn't need him trying to get you to look in his eyes.
"I'm fine."
"Damn right~."
"Please stop flirting with me."
"Aw, you don't like me, sweetie?"
He stops walking, turning around completely, obviously expecting you to stop moving too, though you just keep walking. You 'accidentally' nudge his shoulder when walking past, straight into the door you needed to go into.
You see a very welcomed sight.
A male with sun-kissed skin and gorgeous purple hair, braided and tied with gold, sits on one of the larger window sills, a view of a forest nearby, a book in his hand with a worn-down blue cover, yellow eyes reading over every sentence slowly. His orbs slowly rise from the book that was in good condition, the spine of the book un-cracked, fitting over your form and seemingly judging your every little move. What's with such pretty boys having odd eye colours?
"Hello Y/n, I'm Caelum Hydrous, and I'll be your doctor for the day."
"Caelum, are you thirsty by any chance?"
You were going to respond but you're cut off by a smooth voice behind you. You walk further into the room, letting a familiar crimson-eyed male walk in. You feel the tension rise as they stare each other down, red and yellow eyes mixing. You were sure a fire could start if anything sparked. Abel had a vial in his hands, the container and the liquid were darker than before, it also seemed powdery, less watery. A roaring bear symbol was used instead of the wheel; the teeth were larger, and the eyes were yellow.
"No, Abel, I am not. Now, I have a job to do, leave."
Neither moved and you just side-step away from them both, you just wanted to get fixed up.
...
...
...
Was this a competition? Who can be silent for longer while someone bleeds next to us?
"I'm sorry for interrupting but I must. I'm afraid I'm still bleeding."
They both glance at you, the tension slowly disappears though the glaring doesn't let up. Abel hides the dark crystal vial, making you even more suspicious, was he giving any to Raven? Any of the princes... wait, are the royals the same? You just figured out how to have an okay friendship with Aurelian too.
"Abel, I must tend to my patient."
"I have just as much reason to be here as you do."
"What? You want another addict?"
"You came to me willingly."
Another pause, full of glares, staring at each other full of hatred. Abel lets out a dramatic huff, turning around with a flourish, the soft fabric covering his shoulders trailing behind him, chains of gold following.
Caelum gestures for you to sit, and you obey without question, you didn't want the man bandaging your bloody neck to also want to kill you.
"So, doctor Hydrous, how long have you've been working for Reaven?"
The male with yellow eyes starts to wash his hands, staring you down.
...
Then he smiles, showing off dimples. How could someone be so pretty? Aside from you, you were literally blessed, of course.
"It's a surprise for someone to be interested in my profession. I've been a doctor for about two years."
"That's very impressive, it must be awful working with Abel. I'm so sorry."
"Pfft."
His shoulders shake, he tried to come off as intimidating but he was just a man, even if he had odd eyes or purple hair.
"Was that him, Your Holiness?"
"Perhaps."
"We had a deal~ I'll find you another partner. Now, why don't we toast?"
Another vial, an outline of a snake, the liquid a soft blue.
You covered your mouth as you laughed, your new friend giggling as he tried to catch his breath. Bad talking Abel was an amazing bonding experience. Your neck stung as you laughed but it was worth it, you were still rather stressed because of the red-eyed male and your life being restarted without you knowing why.
"Oh lords, I'm laughing so hard, I'm gonna puke."
"Shh,"
He raises his finger to his lips, laughing as he shushes you.
"I hear someone coming, we're going to get in trouble."
"Seems like you two are having a good time."
You and Caelum both flinch, stopping your laughter quickly as Damien walks in, hand on his sword already. The tanner male walked away, picking up his book and sitting on the window sill again, giggling behind the pages. Damien grabbed the back of your collar, lifting you up easily, and spoke right into your ear.
"As much as I want to crush you, the Priest has told me to keep you alive. Now, he might've ordered me to keep you alive but he never told me I couldn't punish you for misbehaving in these Holy walls."
He drops you, glaring over at the doctor, before gesturing for you to follow him. With his hand still on his blade, and not wanting the lemon-eyed male to go to waste, you walk behind him but he gives a warning to your new friend before leaving with you in tow.
"If you fool around again you'll be relieved of your position."
Gods, strike this knight down if he ever tries to hurt my black-sclera alley.
