The morning rolled along into the afternoon where Mrs. Saphen was currently carrying y/n back to the complex. The area she was leaving was turning to sand-like ash as if someone was cremated. A short battle took place there just a few moments ago with the both of them. One could say it lasted only 30 or so minutes because y/n was in no condition to fight while still healing from yesterday's events. Of course, she knew in the back of her mind she wouldn't be able to take down the person who trained her, her entire life. But in a blinding rage being able to kill her caregiver wasn't something she ever wanted to really achieve.

Y/n slashed, punched, and dodged trying to land a hit on Mrs. Saphen, her eyes pure white. She was quick on her feet after being knocked back. Mrs. Saphen dodged all her punches and grabbed her wrist in hopes of restraining her seeing y/n hands showed fourth-dimensional blotches appearing. They travel up y/n's arms and her chest tainting her skin in fragments. "Y/n if you keep this up you're going to kill yourself! Y/n come back!" Mrs. Saphen kept dodging and encountered her every move but y/n was resilient. A dry chuckle slowly turning into laughter came from y/n. The voice in her head was screaming "kill her"' no matter the cost.

"Come back to what?~ far as I'm concerned there is nothing to go back to!" I teased, smiling big using my third form "Sunder speed" quickening my moments. I landed a few hits on my caregiver hearing her bone break underneath the pressure. The both of them go back and forth Mrs. Saphen now trying to make y/n fall unconscious. Adrenaline is one's best friend in dire situations, although only menacing by the fuel of emotion it uses. Y/n held down her caregivers' hands behind her back, her face planted to the ground. "If you had killed me..." A cold sensation takes hold of my cells and the wind picks up. "I would have been happier dead than suffering every day alive!" Y/n yelled, triggering a sphere of light to form around them and burst, creating a crater in the ground. The trees shattered similar to glass meeting the light wave.

Mrs. Saphen placed down the unconscious y/n in her office chair and began to switch her bandages. She couldn't do too much with the blotches, but it appeared they stopped forming so it was a good sign. Once y/n's caregiver finished patching her up she sat down on a box nearby with a pained groan. Mrs. Saphen had a few bruises on her torso with light wounds on her arms and a bloody eye. "You've grown much stronger than I expected...and to think you were still holding back on me." Y/n's caregiver leaned against the wall and a pained chuckle left her lips. Y/n opened her eyes with dots that clouded her vision and maybe that was a good thing considering she almost tried to kill her caregiver.

"You asked me why I kept you alive," Mrs. Saphen's voice sounded shaky while she spoke to me. "The day your mother's heart met my sword she said to me, 'thank you for protecting her...please take care of my baby.' " Mrs. Saphen had glossy eyes and clenched teeth while staring at the floor. My vision returns slowly allowing me to witness something I had never seen before that would be impossible. A tear slid down my caregivers' cheek while she shut her eyes. A wave of shock came over me while tears forced themselves out of me. It was something about witnessing your parent or guardian show utter sadness to their child that makes one heart crack. "Y/n I don't ever expect you to forgive me but don't let the past drive you into a miserable state." Mrs. Saphen kneeled in front of me abruptly, "I'm sorry y/n... I couldn't s-save them." Mrs. Saphen was in excruciating pain stuttering at slurring her words. I stood up speechless, not sure what to say.

Y/n kneeled down leveling with Mrs. Saphen and was about to reach for her but she started falling over. "Wait! NO!" I shouted cupping her head in my arms watching her fall unconscious. A wave of relief came over me as I hugged her cold body. Of course, y/n was still furious, yet a split second of humanity dwindled her anger. The wounds of the past have been opened and exposed, but at what cost? A guardian and child separated, now have a long journey to forgiveness and recovery.
