i walked through the door with you
the air was cold

Another Friday night meant another party that Loucille was dragged to by her friends. In their defense, the girl had just moved down to LA recently and they wanted to make the most of it before she got sick of it.

"Why does it have to be a party?" the girl complains as they walk down the block. "Why not go see a movie? Or have a nice dinner? Or, better yet, you could've come and left me at home!"

Elora lets out a mocking laugh at her best friends behavior as she wraps an arm around her shoulder. "You're in LA now, Lou! Parties are supposed to be fun, so cheer up!"

"I'll have you know, I'm very cheery."

"Okay then stop complaining about the party." Omar scoffed from the other side of her, causing the girl to slightly punch his arm.

The group of four finally stops in front of a big house, where one of Zachs supposed friends was hosting the party. Her friends don't waste a single second before dragging her inside and shoving a drink in her hand after leaving their coats by the door.

It only took a couple hours and a few drink for Loucille to let loose with her friends. She spent most of her time either on the dance floor with Elora or tragically beating Omar and Genessa at beer pong.

It was safe to say the girl was having fun with her friends, which was how things usually went. The introverted girl would want nothing more than to stay home, her friends would drag her out with them and she would end up having fun.

At some point, Loucilles phone has started to ring in her pocket and she excused herself from the group to answer it. She quickly made her way to the sliding doors by the kitchen and moved to the backyard. The weather was slightly chilly that night, which meant almost no one was stood outside.

Lous mother was a major worrier. Ever since the girl moved out of their house and down to LA, she had called her over a hundred times every day. If the girl didn't answer, there would be all hell to pay. Which is why she stood outside for the next five minutes chatting away to the woman.

Her arms were wrapped tightly around herself, constantly moving her little black dress to find any sense of warmth where she stood. When the woman finally hung up, Loucille took a second to let out a groan and compose herself.

"Are you not cold?" a voice calls out from by the sliding doors. Turning, Loucille spotted a man stood in a jacket with a red solo cup in his hand. She would be a big fat liar if she said she didn't instantly feel attracted to him

Loucille lets out a nervous giggle, wrapping her arms tighter around herself. "I'm a Massachusetts girl, I'm used to the chill."

"Ah, I'm a New Yorker myself so I get that."

The girl send him a small smile, feeling frozen to her spot as she watched his hazel eyes roam over their surroundings.

"I'm Dylan, by the way." he speaks up again.

"Loucille."

"Beautiful name for a beautiful woman."

She lets out a laugh at the comment, feeling very much amused by the man. "Hm, you're quite beautiful too, I guess."

"I'm so, impeccably flattered, Loucille." Dylan holds a hand to his heart, giving her a mocking pout and causing the girl to let out yet another laugh.

"You wanna get another drink?" she asks, moving towards the sliding doors and standing next to him.

"Lead the way, madame."

Pulling the panel open, the pair walked through the door together and back into the sweltering warmth of the dancing bodies. Loucille lead him into the kitchen, refilling both their cups and the rest was history.
