plaid shirt days and
nights where you made me your own

Waking up in Dylan's arms had always been one of her favorite feelings in the world. How their bodies would somehow know to stay close and attached even through the entire night.

His fingers were splayed across her bare stomach, his head rested peacefully in the crook of her neck as he snored away. Carefully, she peeled herself off him and slipped off of their bed.

Grabbing a flannel off the ground —that was probably discarded due to last nights activities— Loucille makes her way out into the kitchen to start making breakfast.

It didn't take long after that for Dylan to emerge from their bedroom, his arms wrapping needily around her waist. He places a soft kiss on the side of her head before resting his chin on her shoulder.

"Good morning." Loucille beams, placing another pancake onto the neat stack she had created. "I was hoping to be done before you were up."

"You know I can't sleep well without you." he mumbles.

"You're such a sap." she laughs, pushing his face away as she wriggles out of his embrace. "Eat your pancakes, you'll be fine."

Dylan rolls his eyes at his girlfriend, taking the plate from her grasp gratefully before sitting himself on the small dining table.

"You know what I think." he speaks through a mouthful as she turns off the stove and makes her way towards him. "We should stay home today."

"I was supposed to go see Lo, today." she says, taking a seat next to him.

Her boyfriend lets out a huff, his lip pouting slightly.

"I could always push it to tomorrow?"

"You don't have to do that, Elora would kill me."

Loucille lets out a loud laugh at that, he always has been intimidated by her best friend. "No she wouldn't. You're leaving for Cape Town soon anyways, she knows that."

"Hm, so what I'm hearing is movies in bed all day?"

"Whatever you want, Dyl." she giggles, letting out a squeal as his hands wrap around her bare legs and he carries her back into their bedroom.

And so that's exactly what they did. Their whole day was spent in the comfortable confines of their apartment.

His fingers brush softly across her cheek bones, pushing back a couple strands of hair that had fallen in her face. Her nimble ones trace along the prominent veins of his arms, following them all the way up to his neck.

"Sometimes this doesn't feel real." Loucille whispered into the stillness of the night.

Dylan's eyebrows furrow, his fingers now twirling her honey brown locks. "What do you mean?"

"I don't know, almost like I've made all this up and one day I'm going to wake up and you won't be here."

His fingers still and his body shifts closer, palm now cupping her cheek as the pad of his thumb caresses her soft skin.

"I'm not going anywhere, Lou."

She gives him a soft smile, holding onto his arm as she pulls herself even closer to him. Her nose brushes his own ever gently, giggles erupting from both of them before she finally pressed her lips to his.

The feeling was unexplainable, the way her simplest touch would send rounds of firing electricity through his entire being. The way his stomach would go inside out at the mere thought of being close to her like this.

Dylan shifts his body so he's now hovering over her, earning another giggle from her as his lips move further along her jaw before latching onto her neck. Loucilles fingers were moving through his hair, pulling gently on some parts.

"Dyl!" she speaks, struggling to hold back a laugh. "We're not going again!"

He doesn't listen, continuing to press butterfly kisses across her face and her neck. "Going where?" He speaks between kisses.

"Not heaven at this rate." her retort finally gets him to pull away slightly as a laugh escapes him.

"Your mind works in mysterious ways, Elle."

Her face lights up with another smile as she whispers, "I like when you call me that."

"It's not because no one else calls you that."

"Or maybe it's just the way you say it."

Dylan places a kiss on her forehead. "Elle."
Another kiss on the tip of her nose. "Elle."
Her left cheek, then her right, but he doesn't say her name this time.

"I love you." he finally kisses her lips again, feverishly this time. The electricity flowing through both of them rapidly as their hands finally allow themselves to roam the other as they please.

Waking up in Dylan's arms had always been one of her favorite feelings in the world. How their bodies would somehow know to stay close and attached even through the entire night.

His fingers were solved across her bare stomach, his head rested peacefully in the crook of her neck as he snored away.
