your mother's telling stories about you
on the tee-ball team
you tell me about your past, thinking your
future was me
"Love, you need to calm down." Dylan states soothingly, rubbing her shoulders gently in attempts to get her to relax. "You're gonna be okay, I promise."
The couple was currently stood in front of Dylans family home, where said family was currently expecting their arrival. To their luck, Loucilles anxiety had decided to hit an all time high the second they reached the house.
The girl shakes her head at her boyfriend. "What if they don't like me? What if they don't like the way I look? Do you have a type? What if they think I'm not it? What if-"
"Lou!" He interrupts, a small reassuring smile on his face. "They're not going to judge you for how you look, don't be stupid. I know they're gonna love you because they know that I love you, okay? Now, deep breath, yeah?"
She stands there for a minute, frozen, and he waited patiently knowing it wasn't easy for her to just turn off her anxiety like that. A large breath is sucked in through her nose and released through her mouth as she sends a smile back at him.
Dylan grabs hold of her hand comfortingly before leading her to the front door, where his knuckles met the wood with a soft pound hence announcing their arrival.
"Oh my God, should I have taken out my nose ring?" Loucille turns to him yet again with a panicked expression to which he just lets out a chuckle.
He found it completely adorable that she was so nervous about meeting his family, even though she'd already spoken to Julia over the phone a couple times and knows that Dylan constantly mentions her to his parents.
"Hey! Don't laugh at me, I just-" but before she could finish her sentence, the door swings open, revealing Dylans mother who instantly wraps her arms around the girl, successfully taking her by surprise.
"Loucille! It's so lovely to finally meet you." the woman pulls back, taking a god look at the woman in front of her. "You're even more beautiful in person."
The brunette couldn't help but let a small laugh escape her at the woman's excited actions. "Thank you, Mrs. O'Brien. It's so amazing to meet you too!"
"Oh no, none of that. Call me Lisa, please."
"Hi mom, I'm here too!" Dylan announces sarcastically, waving at his mother with a small smile.
The woman lets out a laugh that easily eases Loucilles nerves as she wraps her arms tightly around her son. "How could I forget my little boy? You need to come see us more often."
"Mom, I was here last week!"
"And your point is?"
Dylan jokingly rolls his eyes at her as she leads them into the house where Loucille was then introduced to Patrick and Julia. She had to admit, it felt stupid to have been so nervous in the first place now that she's actually here in front of them.
