the tonight show with jimmy fallon!

"Ladies and gentlemen, please give a warm welcome to Loucille Moore!" Jimmy Fallons voice echoes through the monitors, the two stage directors in front of her pulling the curtains open for her to walk through.

Taking a deep breath, she puts on her best smile and walks through the now open gap, waving at the audience and making her way towards Jimmy. Loucille says her hellos to the host before sitting down on the couch on the other side of his desk, slightly overwhelmed.

"It's wonderful to finally have you on here!"

"It's so great to actually be here, this feels like a dream if I'm being honest." she lets out a nervous laugh, looking around at the studio in awe.

"First of all, I wanna say a big congratulations on the success of the album!"

The audience members clap and cheer loudly as Loucille beams. "Thank you so much! I genuinely didn't expect it to get so much love."

"What?! Why would you think that?"

"I don't know. I guess because it's different from my first album, it has quite a sad undertone. I just didn't know if people would like that from me."

"I think I can speak for everyone in this studio right now, that the whole album is a masterpiece. You're one of the fastest rising indie-pop artists this decade!"

This time everyone from the band, audience and even Jimmy himself were cheering the girl on. It made her heart swell knowing her music meant so much so many more people other than just her.

"It's crazy hearing someone else say it out loud!" Loucilles laughs, covering her mouth slightly to muffle the sound.

The man in front of her leans onto his desk. "I heard 'all too well' the day you released it, and I just have to say, wow. I don't think a song has ever made me so sad before."

The girl shakes her head. "I was terrified that day. I got a text from my managers saying everything was set for a midnight release, like go post about it and all that stuff. The moment I did, I just shut my phone off and didn't check it till the next day."

"I think you're one of the first people to not be excited for a song release, and I don't mean it in a bad way!"

"No, no, I know." she laughs along with him. "I don't know, man. The internet just scares me sometimes."

"Now, you know I do have to ask." Jimmy starts, clearing his throat after the audience had calmed down. "There have been a lot of rumors about this record and about all too well specifically being about a former relationship you had. Can you confirm that for us?"

Loucille gives a nervous smile, taking a second to collect her thoughts, knowing she couldn't expose herself like that. "You know, I make a lot of music. A lot of us isn't even personal or about me, it's more of just story telling. I write music to tell stories, not to talk about certain people, if that makes sense."

Jimmy nods along. "It does, and that's such a beautiful way to put it. I think that's why a lot of people resonate with your music so much, because it's just so relatable."

"Yeah, and that's what I love about this whole thing. Because even though I don't know any of these people personally, I don't know what they're going through and they don't know what I'm going through; we can all just get together and sing our hearts out to the same songs."

"You've also recently talked about how your friends have helped you a lot with this record."

Loucille give a big genuine smile at the mention of her friends. "I did, yes! My close friend, Zach Robinson actually helped me produce the whole thing. Elora and Omar helped a lot with the writing process as well, just helped the whole thing kind of flow. I'm so thankful for everything they've done."

Jimmy gives her another round of applause. "Not a lot of artists like to mix their private and work lives. What made you want to bring your friends into this whole creative process?"

"To put it bluntly?" Loucille hums. "They're the only people I would trust with projects that are so personal to me, such as this one. I wrote this album when I was going through a really hard time, and they're really the only people who were there for me and I wanted them to be the ones to help me tell these stories."

"I love that so much. It's been such a pleasure having you on here."

"Thank you, I had so much fun."

He pulls out a poster from under his desk, showcasing the cover of her new album and turns to the camera. "Ladies and gentlemen, Heart to Heart is available now! Stay tuned to see Loucille perform her hit song, Bags!"

The audience stands to their feet, applauding and cheering as Jimmy gave his outro and Loucille got up to hug the man. A feeling of relief washing over her as she walked off the set and backstage to get ready for her performance.
