That same day, Carly decided to stay the night with Avalon. Both young women had stayed in her living room, bouncing ideas and theories back and forth, trying to figure out how to find Zasha Romanova. They knew they couldn't just attack her, they needed to make a plan of how to track her and intercept her plans properly.
If the girl was an agent of some sort, she had to be taking orders from someone. They just had to figure out who the girl's boss was, that is if she had one. Carly and Avalon laid out a map on the glass table, trying to mark where Zasha was last seen in the photos they had. The files contained limited information, but it was enough that they could plot.
The young woman had fallen asleep. Carly draped herself across Avalon's black, leather couch while Avalon crashed on the floor. The brunette had her arms cushioned underneath her head for more comfort. Almost at 3 am, Carly was scared awake from her deep sleep. She realized that Avalon was crying out as if she was in pain.
The room was practically glowing. The young redheaded girl scattered off the couch, rushing over to Avalon's side. She attempted to reach out to her, lightly touching her arm, trying to gently wake her. Avalon's eyes shot open, glowing violently purple. This made Carly jump back away from her. The Stark had wrapped her hands around Carly's throat, not letting go.
"Avalon," Carly cried out, as she tried wrapping her hands around her friend's, "Let me go!"
She didn't respond. Avalon tilted her head as if she was trying to understand Carly, but all she saw in her eyes was someone threatening her. Avalon began standing up, dragging Carly with her. The grip around Carly's throat was tightening more and more as Avalon raised her into the air. Using her remaining strength, she used all her body weight to swing her legs back and knock her knees into Avalon's chest
Avalon let go, both girls dropping to the marble-printed tile, "Carly, what the hell happened? Why are you awake? What time is it?"
"Oh my god," Carly barely said as she tried to massage the pain in her neck, "You don't even know what happened? Do you?"
Blinking, trying to process, Avalon, snapped her head up, a confused expression on her face, trying to reach out to her friend, "What the hell are you talking about?"
"I heard you crying," Resembling a mouse trying to get away from a cat, Carly found herself back on the couch, "I woke up. I tried to comfort you, I know what it's like to have nightmares, but instead, your eyes glowed, and you looked at me as if I was a villain. I think you tried to kill me."
Avalon's mouth dropped, in disbelief that she almost killed her friend, "Carly, I am so sorry. I would never hurt you. I would never."
"I know," She nodded her head rapidly, "I know. I don't know who you saw, but you wanted them dead."
"What did I do?" Avalon asked, almost in a whisper, trying to comfort the younger girl.
"I woke up to hearing you cry, I tried to wake you up, and apparently when I did, you grabbed me and tried to kill me." She answered. "Now that I think about it, I don't think you were awake."
"And I don't think I was trying to kill you." Avalon realized.
"What do you mean?" Carly crossed her legs.
She chuckled, "Because if I was going to kill you or whoever my mind imagined, you would've been dead. I think I was torturing them."
"Avalon, who did you see?" Carly asked, wide-eyed. "What did you see?"
She paused, thinking. "That's just the thing. I don't know."
The following morning, Avalon woke up on the couch. She and Carly switched spots throughout the night except Avalon encouraged Carly to sleep in her original bedroom. The girl was curled up in a ball, sleeping like a swaddled baby. It took about an hour before she had fallen asleep, but deep down in her heart, she knew that Avalon would do everything possible to keep from harming her.
