Avalon was standing outside on her balcony, enjoying the beautiful breeze that moved through the air. It wasn't warm, but the air had a chill to it. Today was the day of her ceremony, taking her proper place amongst the great Gods, and she was expected to be on good behavior. Avalon was still a child in the eyes of most. She didn't age as others did on Asgard. Nor did she carry the same aura as other Gods. She was considered very special. Especially since she was the princess of the castle, the most prized possession of Odin's collection.

The young girl had secrets kept from her. She was well aware of this. During parties and gatherings, she would stand with Loki and Thor in conversation, the other person would turn away from her on certain subjects, especially if they contained topics about her mother. Discussions of her mother were always avoided. Loki was well informed that Avalon felt forgotten during many events, even Odin left her out.

She had just one hour left till the ceremony started. Ever since she was a child she enjoyed dressing up. She always liked to be the center of attention, the star of the show. Wonder where she learned that habit from? Her favorite uncle was indeed Loki. He let her get away with anything and everything. Thor didn't help matters either. He fed her arrogance.

The brothers had taken it upon themselves to help train her in battle. She had never seen it up close, but one always must be prepared for it. There were many different methods of how Thor and Loki trained their niece. Thor constantly showed her how to initiate battle while Loki made sure she knew how to sneak around to surprise her opponent. Thor used her physical strength as an advantage, but Loki showed her new techniques to enhance her powers in attacks,

Often times in the palace, Loki would always sneak Avalon off to another realm. They would travel as a pair, always up to no good. His influence on her youth was strong. Since most people believed that Loki was sly and untrustworthy, they assumed the same for Avalon. Except, since they viewed Thor as the good and wise son, some tried to give Avalon a chance to understand her knowledge. After all, she was the young princess of the castle that always ventured off with her uncles.

"Lady Avalon!" She heard her friend call out for her.

She left the balcony, lifting her dress slightly as she headed back into her large room, "Oh, Nessa, it's so good to see you. How was the battle?"

"We were victorious, as usual. I almost took on this huge beast, but my father beat me to it." She sighed, pouring herself a glass of wine. "Such a shame."

"Well, I'm glad to hear that. Who led you to victory?" Avalon asked, but she knew the answer to that.

"Thor did, shocking, I know." They giggled.

"At least we won. I can sleep better at night knowing that." She smiled at her friend.

"Would you like to near out with me?" Avalon's face fell, she knew her grandmother wouldn't be pleased. "We could go mess with our fellow Asgardians in a tavern, Avalon, please. Or better yet, I have another idea."

They turned their heads as the door to Avalon's room slammed shut.

Nessa sighed, sulking her shoulders, "Way to keep it subtle, Coreah."

"Apologizes, I thought it would shut quieter." She grimaced.

"Why do I have a bad feeling about this?" Avalon sighed, knowing her friends were up to something.

Coreah groaned, glaring at her friend, "You always have a bad feeling about something, but I do agree with Lady Avalon, we can't go, you are running short on time"

"Has time passed that quickly? Yeah, sorry," She said with sarcasm, "I can't help it. Whatever you are up to, I can't participate."

Nessa sat back on the red and gold-trimmed couch, "Why not?"
"Because today is the day that I am properly placed and titled within my family lineage, do you know how angry Odin would be if I missed the celebration?" She told the duo. "Nessa, you've known about this for months. Don't be a bad influence."
