"What's up with your face?" Daisy observed me with suspicion.

Crap, I forgot to cover it up. Tracking the cut stretching from my cheekbone towards the chin I grimaced at its stinging pain.

"Erm, some girl scratched me." I tried to remain indifferent and hopeful she wasn't going to dig further than that.

The woman sighed and placed her coffee cup back on the table. She took a first aid kit out of a drawer and without asking began to apply a cold medicine to my wound.

"Anything I should know about?" her voice lower, almost on edge.

Scrunching my nose, I shook my head to the sides. The woman sighed and gave my head a few pats.

"I trust you kid, don't blow it."

Swallowing with difficulty my voice cracked at the answer, "I wo- I won't!"

Searching my eyes with her intense glare she must have found reassurance because with a tiny smile she changed the topic.

"Alright, let's get going Alexis and Sam are waiting at the mall."

Taken aback I looked at her for answers. "Thought we were going somewhere with Isabel?"

Daisy shushed me and told me to speak quieter. "It's Saturday the only day when she can sleep in, and also. We are going on a mission to look for presents," she added with a wink, and an unknown excitement has entered my heart.

I could get something for Amira!

Running towards my room I threw on a pair of jeans and a hoodie before grabbing my wallet. When finished with that I wore the brown coat Daisy had given me along with the new lacy military ankle boots. As usual, an Asian woman was rocking her slick smoky black coat, which I admit looked badass.

"Where are you going?" Isabel's groggily voice made us stop at the doorstep. The blonde woman was rubbing her eyes, half-awake as she came out of her bedroom.

Daisy approached her and planted a warm loving kiss upon her forehead. "I made you breakfast baby."

"You did?" such rare innocence and excitement as she spoke.

"Yep," Daisy chuckled. "Get some rest, take a bath. We will be back soon, okay?"

Isabel nodded and quickly nuzzled into her wife's neck before giving me a tiny wave and telling us to be responsible and not do anything stupid. Ridiculous, we would never.

Once in the car I couldn't help but say, "You really love her, don't you?"

Daisy observed me from the side before answering with the brightest smile. "When you meet your person, go through many ups and downs, and still manage to put the ring on their finger, trust me. Love doesn't begin to describe what I feel for her. She's my ride or die."

If it was even possible Daisy has gained even more admiration in my eyes. I never expected to hear her speak so deeply about someone, but here she was without any doubts telling the truth.

"I hope one day you will tell me the story of you two."

She laughed amusingly as she shook her head and focused on the road. "It's a long one kid." Shrugging as a response it's not like I cared.

Daisy hummed lowly as if considering the possibility. "Maybe one day," she admitted. "Unlike Alexis mine gets spicier a bit later."

Raised brow and mind full of questions, yet I decided not to ask. Believing, that they would tell me everything once the time was appropriate. Whatever their story was, it must have been a heck of a rollercoaster, considering their mixed personalities and close bonds. This family intrigued me and at times, my brain could not comprehend the idea of my brother taking his own life.
