"We shall prepare the proper burial for the Deputy. He will be missed dearly," Rosestar said sadly. "As of a result, I shall choose another deputy." He watched as Rosestar looked down at the crowd of cats. "I shall choose Blueheart. Are you willing to risk your life for the clan and be loyal to not just me, but to every cat here?" asked the Leader. He was surprised that he, out of all people, would be chosen for deputy. As much as he was surprised, he was honoured. "Yes, I will promise to be the best I possibly can to every cat in this wonderful clan." He stepped up onto Sun-rock. He has never felt this proud of himself. He has become the clan deputy. He had the honour in this secretive clan, high in the mountains. At every step, he felt powerful. His mind was full of questions. 'What might I do as deputy? I was told that when the leader dies or is exiled, the deputy will become the leader.' His mind kept going on and on.After the meeting, he went to find Meadowshade. Meadowshade was playing by the creek near the clan. Blueheart let out a sigh of release when he saw him. "Meadowshade, you shouldn't roam this far away from clan territory. It's very dangerous out here." Blueheart blurted out. "I know, sorry Blueheart." Meadowshade apologized, then he went back to camp. Blueheart sat by a tree on a hiking trail for two legs that wasn't being used at the time. He looked at the squirrels clambering down the trees, he wasn't bothered to catch them, his stomach was already full at the time. He felt himself become exhausted, so he laid down, and took a brief nap. When he awoke, he saw that it was sun-down and he ran swiftly back to camp, dodging stray twigs and thorns. He was out of breath when he made it back to camp. He breathed heavily and laid near a log
