Amethyst's POV
I rang the bell to the enormous mansion, and the next thing I knew, I was being engulfed in a bear hug.
"Hello to you too. It looks like your head only grew bigger as I was away," I teased my little sister.
"Why are you so mean?" She asked, pulling back. That was when Amari noticed Da In standing behind me like a timid kitten.
"Is that your boyfriend? She whispered. I nodded yes, and her eyes went as wide as a sauce pans'. "He is gorgeous. His skin is so perfect. He is so tall, oh my goodness," she rambled on.
"Where are my manners?" Amari asked, pushing me out of the way, "my name is Amari; I am your girlfriend's younger sister," she introduced herself while I scoffed.
Da In chuckled and extended his hand out, "Hello, my name is Da In, nice to meet you too," he replied. They shook hands, and Amari, in true Amari fashion, once again turned to look at me with giddy eyes.
Amari escorted Da In and then came back to talk to me. "You really won in life, oo. How can somebody be so fine? He looks like a K-pop idol," she marvelled at the man in front of her.
"I always ask myself the same question when I wake up. And of course, how would I date someone ugly when I look like this?" I gestured to my beautiful self.
"So if he was ugly, you won't date him?" my sister asked.
"Would you?" I asked. Amari shook her head "no."
"Then why should I?" I asked back with a raised eyebrow.
"You are wicked sha," she said. "Yes, I know, thank you," I replied.
I looked around the house and realized that my brother nor my parents were in sight.
"Mum is in the kitchen, and dad is gossiping with her in the kitchen, oh Darren's at his house," she answered before I asked.
So I strolled into the kitchen with Da In at my heel, and I peeped right into the kitchen. Well, as Amari had said, they were gossiping. They were talking about Da In and me.
"So she is bringing her boyfriend over today, don't embarrass her, ok?" my mum said.
"But, do you think anyone would want to date Amethyst ?" my dad asked, and my mum gave him the dirtiest look ever.
Honestly, I was offended, but I understood- fuck that we all know I didn't understand shit. "Daddy, don't be mean. It is by luck that you ended up with mum," I replied.
My mother looked stunned at first before laughing. "That was a good one. When did you get here?" she asked.
"Just a few minutes ago. I also brought a very special someone with me," I said, pulling Da In to stand next to me.
"He's beautiful!" my mum gushed. My dad looked at me up and down -as if scrutinizing me- then he looked at Da In and then back at me.
"So you are telling me you pulled someone as fine as him on your own," he said. He then turned to Da In and said, "if she blackmailed you into the relationship, blink twice."
Da In chuckled. "She didn't blackmail me, sir, I assure you," he said, placing his arm on my shoulder.
"I pulled him because I am just that good. Besides, you have all seen him on FaceTime. Stop acting like it is the first time," I said.
My parents looked at me then ignored me. "Are you hungry, my dear?" My mum asked Da In.
I internally groaned and walked out of the kitchen with a wounded heart. I climbed up the stairs to the vast room designed with vines and old vinyl records on the walls. At the corner, it had a small circular mirror hanging on the wall, a queen-sized bed situated in the middle of the room, and the carpeted floor was so white and fluffy.
