CHAPTER 12

"What the?" Maya said frowning at Chandra. His behavior is weird.

"What?" He asked looking at her without blinking.

"Stop doing that uncle, you are annoying like hell, sticking to me like glue I don't like that." She got pissed off and walked away. Chandra followed her.

"Maya!Maya!" He called and she rushed into her room and locked the door. Chandra sighed and left.

"What's with the caring caring." She said and sat on the bed.

Next morning

Maya heard whispering and traced it . She realized all the family were gathered in Chandra's room.

"Please I don't want my baby to find out about it." Arnav said.

"Yes I support you." Chandra said and Maya came in without thinking.

"Find out about what??" She asked and all heads went to her direction.

"Nothing baby. Not important." Arnav said and Maya laughed.

"Dad, you know you can never hide anything from me right? I Know there's something going on in this house. You all keep me away from your conversation. Even uncle Chandra have started behaving weirdly and on top of it mom keeps reassuring me. Please may I Know was  bothering you all that you are hiding from me?" She asked waiting for her answer.

"Nothing important Maya please forget our conversation." Chandra spoke and Maya scoffed.

"You are telling me nothing important when I heard dad saying he doesn't want to hurt me and feels sympathy for me. He said he doesn't know how to face me when I find out about the truth. What truth! You all know am not leaving here till you tell me what you all are hiding from me." She said stubbornly and they all sighed in defeat.

"Please be strong with what your father is about to tell you." Khushi informed and he nodded.

"I am not your biological father." He said expecting her to start crying but Maya laughed and they all looked confused.

"I know that already." She shrugged and they gaped.

"Don't look at me that way. Okay I know you aren't my real dad ,I was waiting for you to tell me. I knew that was why you guys changed completely and I just wanted you to let it out to me." She said and hugged her father.

"No matter what they say you are my father dad. You raised me up, fed me , cloth me,loved me and took care of me. I am your daughter no matter what they say and no one can change it okay." She smiled and started sniffing.

"Baby." Arnav picked her up.

"Please clean your tears." He begged and she smiled.

"Now little one, tell us how you knew ." Chandra demanded and she rolled her eyes.

"The witch told me." She said and everyone was still confused.

"The witch Sheetal." She said and Arnav fumed.

Flashback

After Maya left for school, she felt like someone was following but she brushed it off and entered her class. The next day that's what happened for almost a week and finally she couldn't take it any longer so she confronted the person.

"Do you think I don't know you have been following me." Maya asked annoyed and the person feign hurt.

"I Know am being followed so cut the crap and tell me what you want." She said and the person laughed in his head just as they described her.
