Jory woke up with a terrible pain to his face, the whole thing hurt like hell, he shook it and realized someone had tied him up, he was siting on a pile of wood he recognized as his pile of wood and his hand were tight tied in front of him. He tried to wiggle out of the rope grasp but nothing moved.
"He is awake Qa" said a singing voice on his right, somewhere behind him
"Thank the Moon!" they walked to jory, they were the fighter "Why did you punch him?!"
"I panicked okay!?" vibrant green joined in
"Can I ask three questions?" started Jory
"Go on, then it will be our turn" Jory almost replied but the grotesque stopped him
"What the fuck, why the fuck and where the fuck?!"
"No need to get aggressive..."
"To be faire he can, you punched him Eleon" Eleon, who was an elf judging by his long pointy ears, scoffed and turned back to the halfling before Qa continued "I didn't want things to go that way but...Anyway, we were worried that you might have been a spy, I just wanted to do it civilly but Eleon is more of the punch first ask question later so here we are, here is the exact same place as before but the bodies turned to dust after the end of the fight, so now it's clean"
"A spy for who? I mean I certainly don't know anything anyway so I would be a terrible spy"
"You asked your three questions, now it's my turn" said Eleon in his very elven fashion which meant, a little bit passive aggressive "Why were you here?"
"Well, even if I told you, you would certainly believe I'm lying"
"Go on anyway"
"Well, the rope I used to drag my wood broke and the sled went really fast down the hill and ended up very close to the fight, I panicked and got caught up in this madness."
"...Sure..."
"Called it, you don't believe me"
"Next question, how much do you know about the people that attacked us?"
"Nothing, I mean nothing more that I saw, they were mages wearing grey robes, probably from an unauthorized cult" Jory wiggled again "Can you untie me?"
"Yeah alright" Qa quickly untied the halfling "Eleon, I'm way too tired of this, can we just tell him, if we die you can put this on me"
"If we die, I'll find a way to kill you again"
"Works for me" sighed Qa before sitting in the snow
"We are on a quest, technically you call it a holy quest but none of us have time for this part really. The world has fallen ill under the evil at work, The moon shines no longer and we are trying to retrieve it"
"Like in the ancient legends?"
"Yes, many people however have tried to stop us, cults, kingdoms, assholes... the list goes on and on."
"I really don't know what to say, that's a very noble quest and really impressive but...it's crazy"
"You don't believe us, do you?"
"Can you really blame me? And how do you even intend on finding it, the beacon, the moon, its location is secret, I even believe that someone who went there can never remember where it was"
"We've got intel, different versions of the legend, which date back to eons ago, some folk song" said Qa with the voice of someone who was convinced that it was going to work
