Chapter 3- Paige

Usually I'm shy around guys like Juan but I'm not... that's weird isn't it? I'm walking with Juan when I bump into Chrisanna Mendez; a popular girl at Vixen High. She's really mean to me for some reason, I don't know why... but I hate her. Bumping into her makes my stomach jump around in circles and I get a feeling like something bad will happen.

"Watch out you freak!" she gives me a dirty look.

She notices Juan beside me.

"Oh Juan, hey" she says, gushing over him.

Oh please, he is not that attractive... with his long dark hair, and those brown eyes. Ugh, whatever. I roll my eyes.

"Come on" I say to Juan. "Let's go!

Juan looks at me and gives me a smirk that makes me want to punch him, but I can't. Something would pull me back.

"Nah, I think I'll stay here" he says, obviously trying to get on my nerves.

But I know guys like him.

"No, we have to go to your first class!" I say, aggravated, with a slight attitude.

He raises his eyebrows.

What? Did I amuse you? It's not like I haven't been pissed before.

"Hey, Paige. Go stalk someone else, and get the hell away from us" chrisanna says to me, eyes widening with anger and jealousy, probably because of the fact that he's still standing here with me.

"It's okay, catch up with you later." Juan tells her.

She nods.

"Fine" she replies to him and walks away.

I can tell she's not impressed but oh well, I don't give a crap. I look at Juan with confusion. Why did he do that? I thought he'd just run off with her.

"I-i-i thought y-you'd go with her." I said, my stuttering acting up.

I hate how I stutter when I'm nervous, it makes me look like an idiot. He looks at me.

"I'd get in trouble if I left you... by the school or your dad" he replies.

Oh? So that's the only reason. I thought for a second maybe he just didn't want to leave me but that's not even why.

"Oh, I see" I say, rolling my eyes. "Well let's go."

I show him to his first class and leave to go to mine.
