"Thanks for letting me stay here." Cassia smiled the next morning, helping me make up the bed. I looked at her over the linens, wondering if she was really over what had happened the night before.
As if reading my mind, she sighed. "I'm fine. I've come to terms with what James did, and I'm going to tell Angela."
I leapt over the bed, scooping her into a hug. "Oh thank god! I was hoping you'd say that. Do you want some company?" I sat down on the edge of the freshly made bed, examining my new friend.
"Of course." She looked at me as if I was crazy, and grabbed my hand, pulling me from the room. Blaine shot me a funny look and I just winked, shutting the door on him.
Cassia dragged me down the hallway, and we stopped in front of the door reading 'Dorm Advisor.' She took a deep breath and looked at me.
"Ready?" I asked. She nodded, tentatively reaching out and knocking quickly three times. The door flew open a few seconds later to reveal Angela, dressed in a powder blue jogging suit and holding a coffee.
"Girls, what are you doing here? Class starts in 30 minutes." She frowned.
"We know." Cassia stepped forward. "I just need to report another student..."
I smiled encouragingly. "I'll leave you two alone. See you in class, hun."
She nodded. "See you." Angela waved, shutting the door behind them with a concerned look.
I walked back down the hallway, stopping into our room to get my bag. May was speaking with Blaine and they both looked up, startled, when I entered the room.
"Talking about me, hey?" I smiled, picking my messenger bag up off the desk.
"Yes." May sighed. "Cody told me about Cassia. He's on his way over here to walk you to class." She said, just as he peeked his head in the door.
"Ready?" He asked. I nodded, following him out the door to the stairwell. Sadly, the school part of the ship was under the rec rooms. A bad decision in my opinion.
"So, how's Cassia?" Cody asked, as we descended the stairs. There were only a few other students on the landings, chatting excitedly.
"She's good. She's telling the DA." I informed him, pulling open the door to the school. Shiny new lockers lined the walls on the left side, and the walls were a bright red, while the tiles were black and white checked.
"That's great. Wow." Cody exclaimed stepping beside me.
"This way." I said, pointing down the hallway. We obviously, needed to go to the office, since I'd forgotten to get my scedule from Blaine. Or my locker.
"How do you know that?" He frowned. I pointed up to the sign reading office, silently.
"Oh." He was silent for a moment. "Well then, let us be on m'lady."
I rolled my eyes, following him down the nonsurprisingly nearly empty hallway.
Only having about 50 kids or so in your school definitely had its perks. Like having most of your classes with your friends. No cliques for another. It was lunch time, and May, Cassia, Cody, Blaine and I were sitting at a table near the window, waiting impatiently for Cassia to fill us in on what was going to happen. She claimed she didn't feel comfortable talking about what had happened with James, and we were fine with it. I assumed it wasn't good, though.
"Okay, so." Cassia began, taking a steadying breath. I reached over and squeezed her hand encouragingly. She smiled, and started again.
"Most of you know that I had an, erhm, run-in with James?" We all nodded in unison. "Well, Bree came with me to talk to Angela. And well, I told her the whole story. James is getting sent home at the next port, they're buying him a plane ticket. I said I didn't want to press charges." She finished, her eyes glistening lightly.
