Hermione P.O.V

At dinner I was sat with Harry and Ginny with the twins and Oliver opposite us. Professor Umbridge stands at the front and starts her speech.

"And how lovely to see all your bright, happy faces, smiling up at me. I'm sure we're all going to be very good friends." Me, Harry and Ginny share a look.

"Less likely." Harry mumbles. Me and Ginny try not to laugh at his comment and face the front again.

"Thank you Professor. Ok and now as we all may know, the third task will take place in 2 days time. The last task will be the hardest one of all." I feel my breath hitch and my body stiffen. "Champions must venture out into a magical maze in which they must find the Triwizard cup." The hall bursts into whispers. Harry puts a comforting hand on my shoulder, noticing my sudden mood change. I send him a small smile. "The first champion to touch the cup shall win."

"I swear after all this we're having a party." Ginny whispers in my ear.

"A party would be great." I whisper back with a smile.

"Isn't your birthday coming up 'Mione?" Harry asks me. The twins and Oliver face us joining our conversation. Ron joins our conversation.

"Where the hell have you been?" Ron asks.

"What do you mean?" Harry asks causing the twins and Oliver to raise an eyebrow.

"It feels like we haven't spoken to you in ages." Ginny says. Harry raises his eyebrows in surprise.

"Oh erm... well I don't know I guess I've just been busy with some stuff." He says with a shrug of his shoulders.

"Hm ok." Ron says looking at him warily before grabbing more food and continues eating.

"I'll try and stick with you guys more." He says and looks down at his plate.

"Honestly it's fine Harry, it's just...we miss you. That's all." I say and send him a small smile.

"I know..." He says with a sigh.

"You can make it up to her by turning up to her party." Ginny says.

"What party?" Ron asks joining our conversation again. I see Ginny get annoyed.

"You know the party that's gonna happen after the third task. I think there should be one. And well her birthday is coming up, an so there's going to be one for that too. "

"Of course I'll be there. Why did you think I wasn't going to turn up?" Harry says.

"Ginny I don't think I should have a party this year." I say.

"Oh shut up you're having one. You deserve it." She says and Harry, the twins, Lee and Oliver nod in agreement.

"I'll go I promise. And I don't know why you think I wouldn't." Harry smiles at me.

"Thanks Harry." I say with a small smile." Everyone starts piling food and eating. I look over at the Slytherin table behind Lee, Oliver and the twins to see a group of girls looking at me and laughing. I feel insecure and put my arms over my stomach before looking away.

"Are you alright lass?" Oliver asks me with a worried look.

"Yeah I'm fine. " I send him a small smile. "I'm going to head to the library and see what else I can find out about the final task." I say standing up.

"I'll come with you." Oliver says finishing his food and standing up. I nod and we walk out of the Great Hall together with our hands intertwined together. When we reach the library we settle down on a table near the back. I put my bags down and go to find some books. Oliver stays sat at the table. I come back with a few books. I give one to Oliver and we start reading.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After a while of reading and finding nothing, I yawn.

"We should call it a night." Oliver says from next to me. He's struggling to stay awake.

"Alright let me just put these books back." I say and he nods. I collect all the books and put them back on their original shelves. I pick up mine and Oliver's bags. I hold his bag out for him to take. Oliver stands up and takes his bag from me. We walk around the corner and we bump into someone. I jump not expecting anyone to be up at this time. They mutter a sorry before walking away.

I shrug my shoulders and keep walking. When we reach the common room I immediately collapse onto the couch in the corner. Oliver falls beside me and rests his head in my lap. I smile and run my fingers through his hair.

"You alright?" He asks me with his eyes closed.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just stressed is all why?"

"You didn't eat anything at dinner and you seemed really down about something." He says and opens his eyes to look at me.

"I'm fine really." I smile at him.

"Ok." He says not sounding convinced. He looks away from me. I put my hands on his cheeks and turn his face so he's facing me. I lower my head so that is hovering over his and press my lips against his. I break the kiss and look at him.

"Enough about me. How are you love?" I ask as he sits up.

"I'm worried about you...this tournament has made me realize just how much I care for you... and for life to be on the line...well." He says.

"Hey don't worry about me." He nods slightly and closes his eyes. I hum a song quietly to help calm Oliver. I feel his body relax and his breathing evens out. I move him slightly so we are both lying down. I summon a blanket from the girls dorms and put it over us. He rests his head on my stomach and I wrap my arms around his neck to support his head. I feel my eyes grow heavy and close them before falling asleep.
