3 years later.

"Humaira please get me the takeaway plates, I can't find them."

"Humaira do you know where in the world my shoes are?"

"I can't seem to find my jewelries too Humaira. Why does things always gets missing during a wedding?" Poor Humaira was confused as everyone kept calling her attention here and there.

"Habibty, can you please go to my room and get three souvenirs for me?" Ammi asked politely wearing a smile on her beautiful face which was decked with light make up. She was adorned in a very striking red lafayya.

"Hey there Humaira. Go get me a new spoon. There's no way I'm eating with this." Goggo jidde scrunched up her nose at the very neat and new spoon that was in her food. Humaira's face flared up and she almost wanted to say no. There's nothing wrong with the spoon in her food so why get another?

"Don't worry Humaira. Attend to your aunt first and you can get to me afterwards." Ammi said with a small smile giving her the look that she quite understood very clearly by now. A look that said to be patient no matter how difficult Goggo jidde proves to be.

It was truly astonishing that she hasn't caused any trouble for the prior years. Maybe she finally decided to pay heed to her mother's warning or maybe not. Either way, Humaira desperately hoped that it was the former.

Today was the wedding ceremony of two very important people in her lives and she wasn't ready to jeopardize it even if it was at the cost of her brunting Goggo jidde's rude orders or comments the entire day.

Humaira huffed wiping at the beads of sweat on her forehead and then adjusted her swiss cotton and emerald green lafaya which Ammi gifted to her. She made her way back inside the house to carry out her errands as the ceremony was being held outside where canopies and plastic chairs were set up. After the ceremony was over, next was the unveiling of the bride which was tomorrow before Maryam is taken to her matrimonial home the next day in Abuja.

Alot has happened in the past three years. It was no suprise when Nabeel proposed to Maryam two and a half years back. Her parents were honoured to accept the proposal and it was agreed that the marriage would take place 3 years later when Maryam was in her final year at the university. That's exactly what happened and now the rest was history.

Nabeel wanted them to stay in Abuja as Maryam still has one semester to go. His reuniting with Adeel was indeed a blessing in his life. Seeing as they studied the same course which was banking and finance, Adeel talked to his dad about getting his friend a job at the same place he works and it didn't even take a month for that to happen. Now, Nabeel's income was so blessed that he rented a duplex for his family in Abuja. One part was for his wife and the other for his mother and sister which meant they were relocating all together.

Humaira couldn't be more glad about that as she was tired of not seeing her Ammi everyday and now that she has just one semester to go, she could finally stop staying in the hostel.

After she'd managed to carry out all her errands, she decided to hide in Ammi's room to escape all the noise for a moment. Her stomach grumbled signifying her of its hunger and she chuckled. Thankfully there was food in the room so she got herself a plate full of fried rice and chicken with salad. She sighed after taking a spoonful wishing she was together with the bride. Lucky Adeelah was already at Maryam's place after giving the excuse that the bride needed a friend by her side. While unfortunately for Humaira, she had to stay at the groom's side seeing as Ammi needed a helping hand, well atleast untill Maryam was brought for the unveiling ceremony.

Immediately she was done eating which was just a few minutes after dhuhur, she recieved a text from Adeel informing her that the knot has been tied. In the text he mentioned that they were going to a restaurant to have a reception and afterwards go offer their respect to the inlaws which was the bride's parents house. Humaira grinned from ear to ear till her cheeks started to hurt. Finally, it was official! The wedding she has been patiently waiting for all these years. Her heart bursted with happiness for her dear brother and best friend.
