It's crazy how our lives could turn upside down at the spur-of-the-moment.
Immobilized, Humaira watched shockingly as Goggo jidde's body laid on the hard floor of granite. Blood was oozing out from every angle and it was only when Adeelah let out a sharp cry did the shock fully registered in her.
She flinched and in a matter of seconds, swiftly squatted down as she started inspecting her body whilst telling her to wake up. Realising that all the blood was coming out of her legs, Humaira let out a harsh cry in hysterics as she told Adeelah to phone the ambulance. The car which hit her had already made a run for it since as people gathered around the scene.
After a few excruciating minutes which felt like hours, the ambulance finally arrived and Goggo jidde was carried inside with Humaira who persistently refused to leave her side. She dialed a number which she wasn't sure was either Ammi or Ya Nabeel as she related what happened in tears and gasps. Seeing as there was no space, Adeelah quickly made a run for her car and followed the ambulance to the hospital.

"I am sorry to say this but your Aunt has suffered a traumatic amputation. The car trampled on her left leg and as result did a significant damage." Dr.Ammar expressed solemnly. He was the same doctor who handled both Ammi and granny's illnesses. They'd decided to bring Goggo jidde to the same hospital as it was closer from home and one of the best in the city.
"Subhanallah. Isn't there any solution to this doctor?" Nabeel asked holding on to a crying Ammi's shoulders.
"There is. Thankfully the leg was only partially amputated though she has extensively lost alot of blood and with her underlying condition which is diabetes, we will have to regulate it before she undergoes a surgical replantation which is necessary else the wound can get infected."
"Can you please explain that in layman's term?" This time, Ammi enquired.
"Sure. Partial amputation is when much of the body part is cut off which can be as a result of an accident but remains attached to the body and in some cases an amputated part can be fully reattached. While replantation is when that part of the body is successfully put back in its place. For now she's going to be put under observation till we're sure she's fit for the surgery."
"Thank you doctor but can she fully get back on her own two feet and when can she be dismissed from the hospital?" Humaira asked wiping the tears streaming down her face.
"Well it depends on how quickly she reacts to treatment. If the rehabilitation, physical therapy and most importantly the surgery goes well, then the wound will get healed In Sha Allah. With regards to her age, it might take months or even a year or two but we'd hope she'll eventually get back on her two feet."
"Sorry for delaying you but can we see her now?" Humaira added.
"She's currently put under sedation but you can see her as soon as she's awake In Sha Allah." He said hanging his stethoscope over his neck.
"Thank you so much doctor. I would like to see you in the office so we can discuss the expenses of the medication and all." Nabeel shook hands with him.
"No problem." Dr. Ammar vocalised and together they made their way to his office.
"I'll have to get back home and inform Mami of the current situation. We'll come back later and check on Goggo jidde In Sha Allah. May Allah grant her shifa." Adeelah gave a puffy-eyed Humaira a consoling hug and after that bid Adieu to Ammi and Maryam.

"I...*sucks in a breath* Hu_Humaira is that you?" Goggo jidde stuttered weakly, squinting her eyes from the bright light of the hospital room. Her injured leg was wrapped in a gauze and elevated a bit upward. It was splinted to prevent movement or further damage.
