It was nice to talk to someone who didn't focus on the fact that I was being hunted, Cam and I had spent a long while just talking about our time before all of this and I found myself missing my old mundane life and i could feel my emotions swell as I thought about my family. But my brain emptied when a woman with thick black curly hair and bright blue eyes walked into the room. The coffee shop chilled and the lights flickered ever so slightly, she turned her gaze to me for a second a sliver of recognition in her eyes, she turned to walk in the opposite direction from where we were sitting and sat alone at a table.

"Do you know her" Cam asked me, I shook my head

"No. Why do you?" He hesitated before answering with a simple no. She had a presence about her that felt familiar the way she sat and even her posture was very familiar.

"Shall we go now" Cam had already put on his jacket and was ready to go so it wasn't a real question more of a demand. I got up and headed out the door Cam was walking closely next to me blocking my view of the mysterious woman in black. We walked back to my room but when I got to my door it was already open, the room wasn't icy cold or covered in snow so it wasn't any of those pesky bastards that tried to kill me this morning. I kicked the door and gasped slightly as the black cat I had seen before was sitting on my bed and my room was exactly the way I left it.

"You" I said looking straight at the cat her icy blue eyes full of mischief "how did you get in here?" I picked her up and held her close to me as she purred

"Why are you talking to a cat like you're bffs"

"Maybe she is my bff, you don't know"

"She's cute how did she find you? And get into your room..." I looked around and wondered how my door came to be open and nothing was stolen

"This is so stupid. What the hell" I mumbled it might just be someone trying to scare me

"Knock knock" Leo said as he entered my room "heey cute cat" I rolled my eyes as both Cam and Leo stroked the cat

"What is it Leo?"

"Oh right. I have to come clean about some things...things that I should have told you from the beginning and it would have saved us a lot of trouble and you a lot of pain." I regarded him for a moment "the family that have raised us for all these years Aren't our real family, our 'parents' were guardians for children of the divine and our brother and sister were just their kids who in the future will be guardians but don't know it" he paused to look at me and looked confused

"What?" I asked

"Why aren't you freaking out? I kept this secret from you for years?"

"Cam the told me that we are the children of God and Satan, and for some reason they need to rip out my literal beating heart for something."

"And you're okay with that" he was shocked and annoyed, truth is I was screaming internally and wanted to punch everyone in the face but I tried to keep an external cool figure.

"I have accepted that this is all a pile of shit that is crazy but its happening and I have to do something, I don't want to be protected like a little bird, I want to end this and I think it'll happen by me leaving this school which while it has educated me has offered no real protection and because of me hundreds of students and teachers died. It has to stop and my absence from this place will do that" I had no idea where any of these words came from but I did Believe I had to leave this place before anymore people got hurt

"Fine we can be packed and leave by tomorrow" Leo agreed

"What? Are you both crazy. You'll be vulnerable out there im not letting you leave this place"
