Leo
If I could take my sisters pain away i would. But even in this day and age where vampires and angels, daemons and witches live among us, I still cannot find away to end the suffering she has to balance on her shoulders. She doesn't even know what for, she doesn't know how little her life means to these creatures. They just need her heart on a platter. Her skinny limbs were covered by a thick blanket, her dark grey almost black hair sticking out like a sore thumb against the white of the bed sheets, the school nurse was by her side as too is Rosemary. I never liked her. Pathetic little girl
"How is she?" Owen asks
"I don't know" I replied, knowing he would roll his eyes at me "Any news on my parents?" I ask turning to face him. His eyes were on my sister "Oi. That's my sister, stop looking at her like a sad puppy"
"Sorry. Your parents?"
"Yes, my parents"
"They're dead..."
"Not them you twonk. My real ones."
"Oh, right. Well they were still alive last time I checked" he sighed and glanced at my sister "are you going to tell her?"
"Why would I trouble her with that information Mr Lysdane?"
"Because they are her parents too...she thinks her whole family is dead"
I regarded him for a minute. I remember first recruiting him, a snivelling little hell rat, scouring the rivers of hell for fish to eat because his brother had abandoned him for Lucifer.
"I always wondered how you first lost your sight. May you tell me?"
His brows furrowed in confusion at the sudden change in topic
"I'd rather not dwell on it Leo, past is in the past"
"I prey you tell me, I am someone you can trust, no?"
He considered it for a moment."Of course. It was just before my brother told me he was leaving to be a minion of Lucifer, we were mere street people Lucifer couldn't find any use for, but he saw something in my brother. I followed him one day and saw him pick up a large trunk from the doors of hell, he had put it in the back of a carriage and 4 hellhounds dragged it to Lucifers gardens. I hid in the trees and watched as a procession took place. They opened the trunk and Kallen picked up the girl that was inside, an angel of the upper gods. One of the most powerful, don't ask me how they captured her because to this day it baffles me. Her wings were a pale lilac and shone like sunlight on water when she moved." He glanced at my sister again
"It was her, I know. What happened next? I've never been told the full story of the procession." He lifted his eyes from my sister to me
"They nailed her to a crucifix" he paused "and then Lucifer took out a dagger. But it was a weird shape, it was a cylindrical thing that came to a sharp point and contained a golden fire in the middle. She didn't even flinch at the sight of it, she just spat in his eye. It made me laugh. But made ol' Luci angry. He raised the dagger and before he could stab her, she turned to my brother and whispers 'come find me again my love'" he roles his eyes at this "The dagger came down and went straight through her heart. But when he pulled the dagger back out the fire in the middle was gone. She writhed and screamed as the fire consumed her, the light was so bright it made everybody turn away, but I was entranced so fully by it. I've been told if you witness the death of an angel you are cursed and that is fucking true. From then on I couldn't see, and when Lucifer found me after I had fallen out of the tree he was furious, he flung me out to earth where I wandered for miles blind and alone." His story was remarkable, and answers many questions of mine. I admit that when I recruited him to help my sister and I, I didn't really know what I was doing nor the reason for it. But my sister assured me that the death of satan will be for a good cause.
