Licorice didn't know what to expect from starting to play video games. He thought if he told anyone, he would get made fun of. So he kept his interest to himself.

It was small at first, just when he was alone or with Bat-cat and Choco-Were Hound. Small arena games or things he can play offline when he wasn't sleeping somewhere with a stable connection. Then, they started pestering him about what he was doing all the time about why he was on his ds or his phone all the time when they weren't working.

He mostly ignored it, up until they started stealing his stuff to see what he was up to. At that point, Licorice was so pissed off and just used magic to get them to go away, his minions chasing them off.

It became a fear, a weakness. His hobby was a double edged sword he thought- if they found out he would be abandoned again! Licorice couldn't handle that.

It got worse when he moved into the castle with all the others. He saw bat-cat and Were-hound less. It was lonely without them always a few steps behind him.

So, games were played more. He snuck in a laptop and spent late nights playing simple games. Sometimes he would let Shroomie, the youngest (and strangest) member come and watch. It was nice.

They bonded quickly over their shared interest in gaming, even though the smaller could barely understand the basics in most games he liked to play. Licorice tried as hard as he could, but they just wouldn't understand. Frustrated by that, he started playing more types of games, trying to find ones him and Shroomie can play together.

Eventually, he found some easier games made for younger kids called "Kirby," or something like that, and they tried it. It was super easy, and... kinda fun.

It's no secret anymore that Licorice likes video games. Shroomie talks about them at dinner with him. Dark enchantress even started scheduling around the days they stay up late playing so they are well rested.

He's never been happier.
