33. Practice Fears

"What is it with you today?" Christina asked Tris who was in chipper mood this morning. Contrasting to my current one. I had managed to fall asleep but didn't really rest. I kept replaying my argument with Eric. I spent most of my night yelling at myself for wanting him to be different. To be open with me. It was stupid. Eric was who he was, just as I am who I am. I wouldn't change for Eric, why would I expect him be any different than who he is. I was naive to think I could change him or at least have him be different with me. Like I was special. If Eric had really cared he would've said something. That asshole talks all the time and has no filter. So when he said nothing, he said everything.

"Let the girl be in a good mood" Will said "You may never see it again." Tris smacked his arm as we walked into the dining hall. I sat down next to Uriah and laid my head on his shoulder. I don't know why I did. Maybe I just needed a friend.

"You ok?" Uriah looked down at me. I lifted my head and began serving myself from breakfast.

"Yea I just didn't get much sleep last night" a yawn escaped me without me summoning it. 

"We got back from Tori's pretty late" Will added. 

"Did you get a tattoo?" Uriah raised his brow and I nodded as I yawned again. "Well let's see it" Just as Uriah prompted Tobias came and sat down next to Zeke. I couldn't help but notice his hair was different. He had it shorter. It kind of looked like how he used to have it before he left. I looked at Tris who tried not to look at Tobias and failed. 

"See what?" Zeke asked as Tobias reached for a piece of toast avoiding looking at Tris. Tobias was better at it, but I knew my brother. 

"We got tattoos last night" I said as I stabbed a sausage. 

"Whip them out" Lynn said through a mouthful of food. 

"Later, besides I don't want to be pulling my pants down" I waved it off.

"Where did you get it?" Uriah's eyes widen as he laughed. 

"Is it your ass? I've been thinking about get KISS on one cheek and IT on the other" Lynn responded. 

"No, but now I kinda want to do that now" I laughed.

"Hey! Don't steal my idea" Lynn pointed a finger.

"Nobody but you Lynn, actually wants that tattoo" Marlene laughed and Lynn mocked a laugh. "Where is it, Theo?"

"It's right on my hip bones" I motioned with my hands. I could see Tobias shake his head ever so slightly. I don't know why but I took offense.

"I bet it looks sick" Lynn shook her head. "And you know what? We can have matching tattoos, I think that'd be cool"

"Wanna go right now?" I quirked my brow prompting her. 

"We have fear landscapes today" I heard Will laugh and he turned to Uriah. "You think we'll get to see our own fear landscapes?"

"No," Uriah shook his head. "You go through one of the instructors' landscapes. Zeke told me" Zeke who was too caught up in conversation with Tobias to look over.

"Ooh, which instructor?" Christina asked suddenly perking up.

"You know, it really isn't fair that you all get insider information and we don't" Will glared at Uriah. It was such a rude gesture that I made a face at Will when I saw that. It's not Uriah's fault he was born Dauntless.

"Like you wouldn't use that same advantage if you had one, Will" I scoffed at him. "Besides we know now, because Uriah has told us said insider information" The table didn't didn't say anything for a few moments. I could see Uriah smirking and Will looking apologetically.
