"Theo!" Tobias pulled me into a crevice in the stone wall that was barely big enough to fit two people. He embraced me for a few moments, it felt like our reunion was complete. I didn't realize how much I had actually missed him until I felt him wiping my wet cheeks. "I'm sorry I left Theo, but you're here now."

"Don't apologize, you had too" I wiped the stray tear from my cheek. "I missed you so much Tobias." I admitted. Tobias glanced around the hallways.

"Listen to me, no one can know we're related." He held my shoulders between his hands. "We can't risk anyone thinking you getting special treatment. I already changed the transfer records, so if anyone goes looking they won't know." He was confident and stern. I'm sure the last 2 years changed him as much as they changed me. "I'll get you through training, I'm sure Eric told you about the stages" He held me at arms length and I nodded."They're making changes this year and Eric is going to be watching for whatever reason I don't know, but I don't like it"

"It or him? The two of you didn't seem like best friends at dinner." I asked.

"Both, promise me you won't pull any stunts like you did at dinner. The last thing you want to do is get his attention. Stay away from him, he's not a good guy Theo." I could see the seriousness in his face.

"Is he really that bad?"

"Yes" he said deadpan.

"Ok well he already warned me he's going to be watching."

"What? When?"

"Right after he showed us the dorms."

"Shit" Tobias spat. "Ok don't draw anymore attention to yourself, especially not from Eric. I mean it Theo" He looked around as he heard voices from one of the halls. "The last thing we need is you being his target."

"I don't draw attention to myself." I scoffed.

"Yes you do with that mouth of yours." He wasn't wrong. My mouth had always gotten me in trouble with Marcus.

"Okay but it has a mind of its own, Tobias." I gestured.

"I missed you, Theo" Tobias laughed and pulled me in for another hug. "We did it, we got away from him."

"Finally" I said into his chest.

"Was he horrible?" worry laced his words and his gripped tightened.

"It doesn't matter now" I refused to acknowledge the life I left behind. I knew if I told him anything about the past two years it would only upset him. My brother always took the pain of others onto himself, especially if it was mine. "It's in the past, and it can die there."

Tobias told me we would meet up soon and eventually I made my way back at the dorms. I could hear the sounds of snoring from outside the room. I walked in and found an empty bunk and dressed in the dark for bed. I laid in the hard mattress and felt a smile come across my face. I'm here, I have my brother back and a new life ahead of me. I let that feeling drown out the sounds of sobbing from the other initiates. They were frightened from what is to come next. They had the fear of doubt in them and considered failing as an option. It wasn't for me.
