Second Chance

Tine tried to absorb everything Wat had told him just now. He couldn't believe it was all true. He had hard time understanding how can anyone and a father at that could be so cruel to his own children? What sort of monster did this to others? Even his son's death didn't make him regret his actions. Can a person like that be called human?

Sarawat spoke again in a broken whisper,"I have to deal with him daily. See his face and be reminded that I lost my brother because of him. I loved my brother a lot, Tine. He was such a sweetheart. You couldn't help but love him. I hate my father for taking him away from me.

I have a father with whom I can't share my happy and sad moments, who would never sit down and ask me how was my day, who doesn't care whether I'm happy or not. All I'm to him is the heir of his company. That's all I'm and that's all I'll ever be."

"Sarawat, why don't you get away from him? You can't let him control you like that forever."

"Tine, this is the only life I have known. I can't even imagine something other than this. Once I become the heir, I think it would get better."

"I don't think so. You will have so many responsibilities. It would weigh you down."

"This is my fate. I can't escape it. But i won't let you suffer because of this. I will give you divorce as soon as I can. I'll make sure you and your family are well settled and then you can live your life the way you want. Just bear it with a little longer."

"You will divorce me? "

"Didn't you want that? "

"But you said you love me? "

"That I do. I love you enough to let you go because you won't be happy with me."

"What makes you think that? I should decide what would make me happy."

"What would make you happy? "

"You."

"Even after everything? "

"Sarawat, we both went through a lot. We made some wrong choices and we suffered because of them. But i dont regret meeting you now that I know about the person behind the mask. I like him a lot. We never had proper conversation. We can start there. "

"Tine, you truly are one of a kind. I definitely don't deserve you but if it makes you happy I'll gladly stay by your side till you don't need me anymore."

"We can make this work? "

"If you will let me, I want to start over with you. I want to make our marriage work. I hate the idea of divorcing you. "

"I want to give you another chance."

"I'll make sure you don't regret this."

Tune hugged Sarawat tightly. He realized he still liked Wat a lot. He couldn't imagine not being with him. Last few weeks had been too much but when he thought about what Wat had gone through, it killed him. It made sense why he was so closed off.

"Tine, you can slap me in return if you want."

"Okay." Tine raised his hand, Wat closed his eyes and he patted Wat on head lovingly.

"You are too cute. I want to eat you." Wat said abruptly.

"WAT. How can you say that so casually? "

"Why? What's wrong? You are too adorable. What can I do?" Wat pouted.

"Don't pout. I'm going to make you work for my forgiveness. I won't make it easy for you."

"Anything for you,Tine."

Next few days were complete bliss for Tine and Wat. Their honeymoon ended too soon for them. They wanted to stay in Hawaii because it seemed like their problems didn't exist.

When they returned home, Wat's father called him for a meeting.

"Wat, I need to attend few conferences with Mr. Watson. It's important. Don't mess it up. He will handle everything just try to learn."

"Okay Father. "

"This is your last year of college. After this you have to work in the company. Learn as much as you can. I won't tolerate any failure."

"Yes, Father."

"How's that boy of yours? "

"Tine is okay. "

"Keep him on leash."

Wat wanted to argue but then thought better of it. It would make matters worse for them.

"Okay."

"Get out."

Wat went to the company. He has to get the material for the conference. He didn't want to work with Watson. He was such a jerk.

"Hey Wat. Nice seeing you here."

"Give me the files I have to review."

"Sure babe."

"Don't call me that."

"Did I hit a nerve? If I remember correctly you used to love it so much."

"Stop being delusional."

"I heard you got married. That too a guy. Am I the one who made you that way? "

Wat gritted his teeth in anger. He wanted to hit him but nothing good would come out of it. It would make his father angry. Watson was one of the trusted people of his father.

"Cut the bullshit. I don't have time for this."

"Tine is his name, right? I saw your wedding pics. He's looks adorable."

"Bastard, don't talk about him. "

"Don't worry babe, I have eyes only for you. Don't get jealous."

"I'll kill you one day."

"After everything I did for you? Don't be ungrateful. I'm the reason you are standing here. I was your everything, wasn't I? "

Wat could dark memories coming back. He tried to push them away but it wasn't that easy. He couldn't break in front of this man. Not again. He tried to control his breathing and act calm.

"Watson, I don't have time to waste. Give me the files. "

Watson bought the files and handed them to Sarawat, "You look cute when you get angry. You look even cuter when you cry."

Wat snatched the files and left the office. He was fuming with anger and fear. He could feel himself crumble a little. He hated feeling like this. So weak. He needed to see Tine. Looking at him calmed him down. Tine was his safe haven now. He didn't tell him everything. This part of his life was too dark. He didn't have courage to live it again. It would kill him.
