The Truth

"Ultron cleared out. He used the Internet as an escape hatch." Strange said as the team gathered around and tried to find evidence of Ultron, or who he is, and where the hell he came from.

"Ultron." I said, in shock.

"He's been in everything. Files, surveillance. Probably knows more about us than we know about each other. He's in your files, he's in the Internet." Strange continued.

"Where do we go from here." Sam asked.

"Keep an eye on his location and pay attention to clues. Why did they send Romanoff to London? What is there that they need?"

"Vibranium." T'Challa said.

Why would they need the vibranium? What is so important that they had to kill hundreds of people and get to the vibranium? Vibranium is Wakanda's secret, the last thing we need is for people to find out the truth about it's value and gun for it.

"He also said he wants the Avengers dead." Rhodey added.

"He didn't say dead, he said extinct." Shang-Chi added. He seemed like a pretty cool guy. He could be a major help to me in my journey to find Kat.

My mind was in a haze. Where did she fall into this? Why was she so important?

The questions in my head outnumbered the rational thoughts and took over. Tears began streaming down my face when I began to think about everything she had missed. Steve leaving, meeting Dani, me getting better, Thanos, and most of all, saying goodbye to Natasha.

Sam must have noticed my discomfort and my face switch to sadness, as he came over and said, "Buck, you good?"

I began with a chuckle, "Yeah totally. It's not like I just had to watch the woman I love get tortured and turned into a murderer, and let's not forgot it's all my fault." I said as I got up from my seat and walked towards the door to exit the Sanctum.

"Buck wait up." Sam hollered as he ran up to my side. "Where do we go from here?"

"Home. I need to find her and get her out of this hell, just like she helped me. This can't be true," I continued, as we began walking the streets of New York, and going back to our apartment.

"Buck, let's be rational, do we think she even wants to be found?"

I stopped walking and said, "Sam, regardless, she's being tortured probably right as we speak. I can't have that neither can she!" I ran towards the road and called a taxi, to hurry our way back to our apartment.

The Taxi ride was full of Sam telling me to relax, while I ignored him and kept my face straight. We pulled up to our apartment complex and ran out of the taxi,

"Buck slow down," Sam said from behind me, "What if you see something you don't want to see?"

"I already have." I responded coldly.

I opted for the stairs over the elevator. I ran up the stairs and rustled in my pockets grabbing the keys and flung the door open. I lost Sam somewhere behind me and didn't care about finding him. I ran over to the computer with the facial recognition scanner, and turned it back on, hoping to catch a glimpse of her.

As soon as the screen turned on, nothing popped up. I decided that I was going to stay glued to this computer screen, until she's revealed, and I know she's okay.

Sam must have entered somewhere behind me, as I heard the door shut. I didn't even bother to look over, as I heard him say, "I'll order dinner..." In a hushed tone.

My mind was in shambles. It feels like I was the one getting tortured all over again. Not knowing where she is or what she has done, or the extent of how severe her punishments have been. She did this for me, but why? She could have walked away free but chose to end her life for the betterment of mine.

In a way, she reminds me of Steve. Putting others before herself and always doing what is best for everyone around her. Never shying away from a challenge and being the person to make the sacrifice play. But it's kind of heart breaking to me that she never saw that side of herself. All she saw was a murderer who deserved nothing in return for her actions and felt as if the things that were given to her in solace would turn their backs on her and be the ones who tore her down. This woman is much more to me, than this Russian spy who killed many, or the murderer they show in those videos, she's a kindhearted, hardworking never fearing woman, who, when freed, can be the version of herself she always longed for.

The more my mind wondered, the faster time went on, before I had time to realize it, 3 hours had past, and it was around midnight. My eyes began getting sleepy, and I could hear Sam's loud snores from a room away. The snores slowly got quieter and quieter, as I slipped into sleep.

I was awakened about 2 hours later by a an alarm. I couldn't figure out where it was coming from, so I woke up and realized the facial recognition scanner had gotten something.

"SAMMM" I called, "GET OUT HERE! WE GOT SOMETHING!!" I screamed until he woke up.

"What???" Sam said as he entered the room with sleepy eyes.

"We got her."
