Two Days later....
Lost. I have nowhere to go. After I left the rock, I found a motorcycle and just ran. I was free from Hydra, free from the shackles that were holding me down. The only problem is, I'm wanted in almost every country.
I began looking for somewhere to go. Somewhere I could walk around and not be worried about someone turning me in or freaking out cause The Viper is their next door neighbor. So, As soon as I was far enough from Sokovia, I stumbled upon a private plane and pleaded for him to take me somewhere. Somewhere I could be safe and not harm those around me. Luckily, I had the right pilot. Dressed in my suit underneath, I had stolen a black hoodie, and black sweatpants on my journey, and did my best to hide my identity.
He told me he had a friend in this place called Madripoor, who would take me in and help me get my feet back on the ground. He said this place had no laws, it's where the broken go to find their pieces again.
The man dropped me off at a runway on the outside of town with a note with an address on it. Something about this man looked familiar to me. Light gray hair, almost white with a beard of the same color. I decided not to say anything about it in case he would come looking for me at some point.
I walked along this bridge, and the air smelled very distinct. Almost like an acid. I can barely remember being here one time, but it's so far in my mind, and I'm not sure if I want to remember the full details.
As I approached the entrance, I was followed by a group of men on motorcycles, guiding me into town. I wasn't sure if they were going to arrest me, jump me or poke fun at me, but they just rode along following me without an interaction.
I'm not sure what kind of place this is but, as I entered the main town, the streets were wild. Filled with life, bars, clubs and everything in between. I could tell this place was full of people like me, runaways. I wasn't sure where I was headed so I began walking through the streets. I was cautious to keep my head down, and my hoodie up. I knew there was more than likely cameras all around, and the last thing I needed was Bucky or anyone finding me with a facial recognition.
I approached a kiosk looking thing that contained a map of Madripoor. Whoever this person was, lived in a place called Hightown. Which from my vantage point, looked like the better, more safe part of town. I kept walking until I saw a sign that read, "Hightown", I was close.
I walked into Hightown and began looking for the street name given to me on my slip of paper. I wasn't sure if this person was expecting me, or if this person knew that the murderer The Viper would be the person knocking on their door. This person could literally be waiting to turn me in or kill me in an instant, and I can't say I blame them.
As I was walking I saw the street I was looking for. I turned left down the street and there was a wall of apartments. It looked very similar to Brooklyn and I began to feel a little bit more at home, and that this is where I belonged. A subtle nod to some place I wish I would be in.
I walked down this street, until I saw the address I was looking for.
This place was a big red bricked looking apartment complex with a brown door. It had two floors and the lights were on, so I knew the person was home. I hesitantly walked up the stairs that led to the front door. I debated actually knocking on the door. I stood there for a solid 5 minutes questioning myself and if I should even try to correct my wrongs and build a new life.
I finally worked up the courage to knock. I raised my left hand and knocked on the door 3 times, not to hard, I didn't want to alarm this person. I waited, and waited until I heard the lock loosen from the inside.
My heart stopped, and I felt my stomach in my throat.
The door slowly opened and as it opened I began to see this person a little more clearly.
They stood there In a black top with a sweetheart neckline, jogger like black pants with black boots. They had bright blonde hair with blue eyes.
Sharon Carter.
"I've been expecting you." She said.
I stood in horror.
"Can you help me?" I asked.
"I'm here aren't I?" She said, "Get inside. We clearly have a lot to catch up on."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"So, you were with Ultron?" Sharon asked.
"Unfortunately." I said, "I had no choice. It was like my body was my body but my brain was a hydra computer waiting for someone to give me a command."
"Wow. And I though what Barnes did was bad."
"You're not helping." I said.
"Sorry, sorry. Look, you came here, which is the right place. Madripoor is lawless, no one can touch you here so you'll be okay. You can help me with my business here and we can take care of this. Is there anything you can think of that would give away your location to anyone?" She asked.
"Facial Scanners." I said, knowing Bucky and everyone would be looking for me that way, "Bucky is probably looking at them now trying to find me. Is there anyway to get rid of my face on the scanner so no one can find me?"
She nodded her head.
"Why do you want to run from Barnes so much?" She asked as she motioned me to her computer.
"That's a long answer." I responded, as Sharon sat down at her computer.
"Kat, we clearly have enough time." She said, "Go on. This is going to take me a second."
"Okay. So I met Barnes back in 2015, and I basically helped nurse him back to himself. I bought him books, taught him lessons and made sure he was going to be okay. I did it in secret, not telling even Natasha. Something happened between us though. I began to care for him in a way I can't explain and something I've never felt before. We kept on and every time me and Nat moved, he moved with us, until we ended up in Romania and got a call from Steve, that he needed Nat back and to bring me to join them in finding Rumlow, and I left him in Romania. It broke me and him and I had to cut off all communication so Steve wouldn't find him too soon."
"So, you hid him from Steve?" Sharon added.
"Yes. But it hurt me so much and I hated doing it but I did it because of the way I felt about him and I just had to make sure he was safe." I continued on, "Then the whole accords and airport thing brought us back together. When I went to Hydra to protect him I did it because of my feelings and I knew that he deserved the life he never got to have. My life isn't worth much and I don't deserve the life I had. When I was rescued and realized what I had done, I wanted to get away from him. It hurts Sharon, it really does, but he has this new life full of things that he's just begun and I don't want to stop that for him to protect me. So, I ran. Selfish I know, but if the avengers don't know where I am or what I am doing, they can continue with their life."
"What about Natasha?" Sharon asked with a somber look in her eyes.
"I don't know." I said truthfully, "I guess I'm just in pain. I never thought, after my life before, that I would be without her again. But now that I have to be, I need to adjust to it alone and away from everyone."
"Well, you're identity has been erased from the servers and as far as anyone is concerned, Katerina Romanoff doesn't exist, "Sharon said as she turned to me, "Let's fix you up okay? Something tells me you need to get back to wearing those holsters." She said with a chuckle.
A/N: Sharon huh? Vote please :))
