The sun came up that morning and shone through the window. I stirred slightly not wanting to wake Bucky up, but then I realized he was already awake, and staring at me.
I opened my eyes and met his gaze. The way the sunlight hit his perfectly blue eyes gave me butterflies in my stomach.
He smiled at me widely, and chuckled.
"What are you laughing at?" I asked, smiling with my morning voice in full swing.
He took his flesh hand, and put it on my left arm, rubbing it up and down, "I just can't believe we made it here."
I bit my lip, and leaned in, meeting our lips together. The kiss was short and sweet, but it got the point across.
"Where's Sam by the way?" I asked.
"He left last night to go get somethings before we start the mission into the red room." He said.
I looked at him confused, "You found it?"
He nodded his head.
"When you left last night, Sam and I knew it was no use trying to stop you so, we did some digging, and found the radio frequency of the KGB. It's about 50 miles from Moscow, looks like your classic prison, and we've found the exact location. All we have to do is figure out how to get inside, and we couldn't do that without you."
I propped myself up on my elbows and got myself sat up. I crawled on top of him straddling his waist. I leaned forward kissing to the right of his neck. He moaned into my movements, but before anything got too deep I sat up again.
"I can't believe you found it. Thank you."
"Anything for my best girl." He smiled.
I leaned back in for a kiss, but we were interrupted by a voice in the living room.
"God Finally you too made up!" Sam screamed. I got off of Bucky, and sat back in my original spot, to see Sam standing in the doorway.
"Sam, glad to see you made it back." Bucky said, sitting up next to me.
"Yeah Yeah, we have to make our play in a few hours, my intelligence says Dreykov's got the serums ready to go, so enough fonduing please, we got work to do. And Romanoff, there's something on the jet for you I found at the compound."
"Got it Sam." I said in response.
I looked over at Bucky and he did the same.
"It never stops does it?" He asked.
"No. No it doesn't." I laughed. He pecked me one more time on the lips, and although short and sweet, the passion he was able to communicate through his motions was crazy. The amount of love I feel from him is unlike anything I'd ever experience.
He was right last night. By allowing ourselves to surrender to this feeling, we've started a new life. Both of our separate lives have been nothing but death, and anger, and pain but now that we started this one, right now, together, there is a whole new realm of possibilities for our future.
We released from the kiss and got our move on for the day, ready to take on the red room.
I got out of the shower, rinsing off the left over dry blood from last night, and changed into my spandex shorts and one of Bucky's black T shirts.
The boys were in the living room, beginning to plan their part of the attack, I walked into the room, ready to plan the rest of the fight.
"So, where do we start boys?" I asked. They both got up from the couch, and made their way to the kitchen table, where Sam had put a map with a layout of the Red Room, and everything around it.
Bucky stood next to me, and Sam stood across from us on the other side of the table, getting ready to explain.
"So, the Red Room is 50 miles outside of the city. My intelligence tells me, Dreykov's office and widow room is in the direct center of the facility. Bucky and I will fly you above the facility and drop you about 1 mile away from the outside walls. You can then use your past to get inside and get with Dreykov. Bucky and I will take care of the outside threats, meaning Taskmaster, widows, Russian government, all of the above."
I nodded my head in understanding. "So once inside I can beat Dreykov and get the serums, while also trying to save myself from blood hungry widows who are trained to kill." I smiled, "What could go wrong?"
"You're a super solider, remember that." Bucky reassured placing his hand on my back and making circles.
Sam rolled his eyes at the two of us and I could tell he was contemplating calling us out, but I guess he chose not to.
"We leave in 15." Sam said, "Kat, go get the box for you on the jet. It's important."
I nodded my head. "Suit up guys."
I turned and left them in the living room. I walked out of the back door, and opened up the Quinn jet's loading door in the back. I walked in, and saw a white box with my name on the outside sitting on one of the benches. I pushed the button to close the loading door and left myself alone in the jet.
I lifted the top off the white box off, and saw a letter, addressed to me, on top of black tissue paper.
The letter was addressed to me, and I opened the envelope, not expecting what I would find inside.
Katerina,
Oh, sistra how I wish I could be here to give this to you myself. I hope you understand why I did what I did. After you went missing, I spent countless hours trying to find you and all of my attempts, even the bloodiest led me nowhere. I fear for the worst but hope for the best that one day you have this gift I left for you and you are okay. Thanos snapped half of the world away 5 years ago and the Avengers have been given a chance to get everyone back. I'm not sure if you were blipped away, or if you are hiding out somewhere, but either way I know what I am about to do, I did it for you. I'm going to a planet called Vormir to get the soul stone with Clint. After hearing what Thanos did with his daughter to get the stone, I know my chances of survival are very, very thin. The only thing I regret, is not saying goodbye to you.
I love you so much sistra. No one will ever understand the bond that we share and everything we ever went through. In this box is my first suit I ever wore as an Avenger in the fight against Loki. I cleaned it, and I saved it in case I ever got to see you again after you escaped. Wear it with pride like I did. Knowing that what you're doing is making a difference in people's lives.
If the world ever gets dark again, just know I'm always next to you.
Love,
Natalia
I was bursting with tears. I could barely see through my tear-filled eyes, and I was trying to hold myself together.
I moved the letter to the side and reached into the box, removing the tissue paper, and revealing the black leather suit that Natalia once wore.
I pulled it out of the box, and felt the shield logo, on the chest, and the belts filled with weapons. She must have known I would love these. New toys to play with.
The holsters were sewn into it, which was amazing cause I get tired of messing with them all the time.
I looked at my watch and saw we were leaving in only 5 minutes, so I gathered myself up, and changed in the jet.
The suit slipped on with ease. The leather hugging me perfectly, and the holsters doing their job. It felt amazing, like I was meant to wear it. I zipped it up in the front, leaving a little unzipped. A girl has to be proud of what she's got right?
I opened the loading door, and walked down it, going back into the house to get the boys.
"Waiting on you guys." I holler, getting their attention.
They both did a double take at my new look and commented on how good it looked.
We loaded up the jet, and soon enough Sam flew us towards our destination, and it was time to take down the Red Room once and for all.
