"You have a visitor again, Marcus." I smirked as I watched his cheekbones stain pink even though his face remained unmoved.

"I told you. I hired him for a bit." He mumbled quietly. If I didn't know that his resting bitch face and bland tones just hid a quiet person with no real malice, I would think he was mad at me for something.

He's just an awkward guy though, so I chuckled and waved to Demmy where he sat and waited for Marcus to get off work. He was wearing a neon green track suit today and the dog waiting across from him was staring.

"If you hired him then can't you ask him to wear something a little more normal to pick you up? The guy looks like a walking disaster." I joked, and Marcus' lips twitched as he glanced over the partition.

"He says it's important to wear bright colours when you are walking in low light." He replied with a glance in the direction of the brightly coloured man. I snorted.

"Whatever, get out of here. Your shift is over, and your walking buddy is hurting everyone's eyes." I waved at the clock on the wall. Marcus' eyes lifted and then he logged out of the computer.

"See you next week." He said before walking out of the reception area with his bag. I nodded and waved to them both as they went out the door. The rest of my shift was rather boring.

I was a little relieved when my man showed up to take me home. I was exhausted and didn't really want to walk. I got into my car and buckled the seat belt before Sasha pulled into traffic to head back.

"So, what's the occasion?" I asked with a grin. He glanced at me and then ruffled my hair.

"My parents are coming for dinner tonight. We are going to pick up some food and get ready early." He explained. I nodded and licked my lips.

"I will do a full house cleaning then?" I tilted my head and he smiled at me.

"Please. I will assist you." He used that commanding tone that just made me want to drool. I leaned over the center console and laid my head on his shoulder for the few minutes it took to get to the grocery store.

The bright lights made me feel dazed walking through the place. Sasha bought vegetables, meat, and then a few spices we were low on. I felt like a tag-a-long, not really sure what I was supposed to be doing.

If I was a kid I could sit in those seats in the cart, like the little girl and her mother that we passed while shopping. She gave us a side-eye and I sidled closer to my man protectively.

"What is it?" He asked me gently. I shook my head.

"Can I make dessert?" I asked softly. The wide-open space made me want to whisper for some reason. Like talking in a library. I was afraid it would echo, and everyone could hear me.

"Sure. Let's pick something." He agreed. I turned down the baking isle and looked over all the boxes of mix. I was making dessert, not becoming a freaking pastry chef here folks.

"Do they like chocolate, or should I get butter pecan?" I bit my lip and looked up at him. He tousled my hair and picked up a box of triple chocolate brownie mix.

"This one." He tossed it into the cart and I grinned at him.

"I love brownies." I murmured as we walked to cash out.

"I know." He didn't glance at me, but hip checked me gently when we turned the corner. My smile just wouldn't go away. It was so freaking domestic and cute! We were like a couple. Wait, we were a couple. It was so awesome.

"You put the bags in the cart at the end." He gestured for me to go in first once our things were on the conveyor. I walked past the cashier and waited with the cart for our stuff to be rung through.
