33 | Diaper Changing Duty

~~Lloyd's POV~~

After finding out Ultra Violet plans on resurrecting my father, we needed a plan. And fast. She had the time to plan on this while we only had now to prepare. With one mask in our possession, and the other in their base, we had to up our defenses. And a flying ship that could be seen from anywhere in Ninjago wasn't exactly the best hiding spot.

I barely got any sleep last night just from thinking about it, along with other things, and I had spent all morning running around Ninjago city to find Zane and Cole after the incident at Laughy's karaoke club.

When I got back on the bounty, I boarded with Master Wu and my mom right before Kai and Jay left to search the stations I couldn't cover.

"Are you okay?" Harumi ran up to hug me and I easily melted in her arms. I suddenly had a strange urge to cuddle her again. I've been trying to find a way to tell her how I felt, but I couldn't find the perfect time.

"I'm doing okay." I smiled and she nodded before we both turned our attention to the team.

"Where's the mask?" Master Wu asked as he paced around the bridge.

"We have kept it in here for the time being." Pixal approached us with a box in her hands and I nodded.

"It is a very dangerous relic. Please tell me none of you touched it." My mom stated with worry.

"Only when we had to hide it." I answered. "But Harumi had to hold onto it when we escaped."

At the mention of Rumi, my mom immediately went over to her. I smiled at the sight before turning to Master Wu.

"Where are the rest of the ninja?"

"Zane and Cole are in the hideout of the SOG. Kai and Jay have been trying to find them."

"We need to hide the mask, and you princess." Master Wu glanced towards Harumi. "You both are too valuable. We need to keep you safe."

"Where do we go?" Nya asked and I wondered the same thing too.

"Pixal, can you read me?"

We all turned towards the screen at the sound and I knew who it was all too well.

"My cover may be blown, but I've spotted the mask of vengence." Perhaps Ultra Violet was smarter than I thought. If she was able to see past Zane, I doubt her plans end here.

"I read you. Acquiring picture." Pixal responded and immediately worked on the controls.

We got a visual on Zane's point of view. They were on a bike chase in the middle of Ninjago city. Surely Kai and Jay would have spotted them by now. But Cole was nowhere to be seen.

"I don't know how long I'll last but I'll tell you this now. I don't know what their next course of action is but Cole said they have a key."

"A key?" I repeated in hopes he could hear me. What could the SOG need a key for? Maybe the third mask? My mind was racing with questions.

"Hold tight a little longer, we have a new bike coming to you now." Nya took over the controls but my thoughts went back to the mask.

"Where's the box?" I asked after taking a look around.

"Are you enjoying the show, Ninja?" I could hear a voice from the deck and I immediately ran over to the rails.

Ultra Violet was on board and she had the mask of deception on one hand and a time blade on the other.

"How did you get that?" I hopped down and faced her. "The time blade was buried. Hidden away from people like you."

"But I found it now, didn't I?"

"Lloyd? What's happening?" Harumi called from the bridge. I couldn't risk putting her in any more danger. 

"Get inside, Rumi. I'll handle her."

I took out my sword just as Master Wu jumped down the deck to my right.

"But I can help—."

"I said get inside!"

I didn't have time to check if she followed. Ultra Violet placed down the box and charged towards us. I had my encounters with the time blades before so I knew how they worked. All I had to do was get it away from her.

I used my sword to block her attack and kicked her backwards which made her fly into the pole. Master Wu attacked her when she got up but she ended up dodging his attempts.

"You don't know what you're playing with, Ultra." I warned and dodged a punch.

"Maybe I do." She lifted the time blade and went to strike it at me.

Everything happened so fast. Before I could react, Harumi came in and tackled her to the ground. Causing the blade to get out of her hands and into the air. I tried to reach for it but Ultra Violet was quicker.

She kicked Harumi off her body and leapt for the time blade. When she got a hold of it, she struck it at the first person she saw. Master Wu.

"You are holding a very powerful weapon, Child." Master Wu tried to warn as he dodged her attacks. She was really insistent on hitting him. I got up to check on Rumi who was laying down on the floor of the deck.

"I told you to stay inside!" I scolded and helped her up.

"And I told you I could help." She huffed back and crossed her arms.

The fight continued from behind us and I immediately jumped in when I had a chance. It turns out I under estimated Ultra Violet. One minute I had the upper hand, the next, she held the time blade a few inches away from my face. Before she could do anything, Master Wu jumped in front of me, taking the shot and pushing me out of the way.

"Gotcha." Ultra Violet cackled and played with the blade in her hands. 

"No!" I yelled and went to tackle her but she kicked me back.

"You are nothing without your master. You are not capable of being a leader." Ultra Violet stated as I clutched my side. Her shoes were heavier than mine and it felt like they had nails attached on the bottom.

"Oh yeah? But he has a team."

Another voice came into the scene and I looked past her to see Cole. He began to fight her and soon Nya joined in. I left them to deal with Ultra Violet because we had other things to worry about.

"Master Wu!" I exclaimed. With every passing second he started looking younger and younger.

I winced as I walked towards him but that was until I felt an arm around my waist and a hand guiding mine.

"Let's go." Harumi said as she slung my arm around her shoulders and we both walked towards Master Wu.

"Lloyd. Whatever happens, you must protect the mask! Don't let her resurrect your father." His voice was now changing but I nodded in understanding.

"Master, just hold on, okay?"

"There isn't much time. I am only getting younger, Lloyd. You have to continue the mission."

He quickly shifted from a man to a teenager and then to a child. I knew I couldn't do anything. I had failed to protect him once again. I looked down and sighed. The weight and the pressure was back.

I heard the cooing sounds of a baby and when I returned my gaze towards him, Harumi was wrapping him in a blanket.

"It looks like my mission here is done." Ultra Violet smirked from behind me before jumping down the ship. I looked over the edge to see she had a parachute on with the SOG insignia.

"Did she get the mask?" I asked Cole and Nya who looked exhausted from the fight.

"No. But we did get the time blade." Nya held up the weapon. At least there was some good news.

"Where's Master Wu?" Cole inquired and I bit my lip.

"Right here." Harumi joined us, the baby in her arms, and showed the others.

"Great. Now we have to assign the diaper changing duty."
