Epilogue

~~Harumi's POV~~

If I was told at the beginning of all this that I was going to go on a life changing journey, I would never have believed it. I would never have cared and instead continued on with my constant rule breaking. But times change and things can happen.

A lot has happened over the past few weeks. I lost my family but I gained a new one, I helped save Ninjago (placing Ultra Violet in prison gave me a huge feeling of relief and pride) with the most amazing boyfriend a girl could have, and now, I was preparing for one of the biggest days in my life.

I looked at myself in the mirror of my newly rebuilt room in the Palace of Secrets. The staff had to be replaced but everything else looked the same, minus all the gold which Nya insisted was too much.

"Hey! Are you ready?" I turned around to find Vania and the rest of the girls all poking their heads from behind the door.

"A little." I responded with a smile and beckoned them inside. "But wow, you all look amazing!"

The girls had made an effort to look their best. Each of them were wearing gowns that matched their favorite colors. Even Nya, who insisted she hates dresses, was able to pull off one of the most beautiful blue colored gowns ever made in Ninjago city.

"Nothing compared to you! Have you seen yourself?" Skylor exclaimed as she wrapped an arm around my shoulders.

My eyes trailed back towards the mirror. My face was painted with the lightest shade of makeup. My white-blonde hair was curled in waves and flowed down my shoulders and onto my light green gown.

"What's taking you girls so long? Everyone's waiting!" Cole called from the doorway which made me laugh. He was wearing a suit with an orange tie, his hair was fixed but it wasn't that obvious.

"No, shoo. You're not supposed to see her yet." Vania waved her arms in an attempt to cover me from his eyes.

"I'm not marrying her, Vany, calm down. Maybe it's you I shouldn't see."

The girls groaned and whined before throwing pillows in Cole's direction.

"Take your flirting somewhere else." Nya exclaimed through her laughs.

"Well, everyone is waiting, Harumi." Cole informed us before grabbing Vania's hand and placing a kiss on her knuckles.

"Let's do this." I smiled and took one last look in the mirror before turning around and walking towards the door.

The doors to the throne room opened to show the crowd of people that were gathered inside the palace. There were many familiar faces as I walked down the red carpet and I smiled at the scene.

I was accompanied by a procession of few guards behind me but only one person made me feel safe. At the front of the crowd was Lloyd and the rest of the boys dressed their best.

I let out a small giggle when I caught his emerald green eyes before walking towards the police commissioner who stood in front of the throne. A part of me always thought that it would be Hutchins doing this with me when I was to inherit the throne, but I knew he would still be proud of me.

The Police Commissioner held out a scroll for me as I stepped up the platform. I took it from his hands and began reading out loud.

"I, Princess Harumi, of Ninjago city, do hereby solemnly swear to help all those in need. To uphold the laws of the city and to protect and faithfully serve all who dwell in it." I handed the scroll back to the commissioner who placed it down and exchanged it for a crown.

"Then it is my great honor and privilege to pronounce you, Empress Harumi, the rightful ruler of Ninjago City."

I leaned down and felt a weight rest of my head before looking back at the people with a smile. I was finally empress but this time, I was going to change the way my adoptive parents ruled. It didn't take long for a party to break out right after the ceremony and I immediately made my way to the team.

"So, when is Lloyd's coronation?" Kai teased which made the boy blush and nudge him in the chest.

"Ah, yes. Emperor Lloyd of Ninjago City." I bowed my head playfully and I looked up to see him turn into a deeper shade of red.

"Congratulations, Princess. I say celebrations are in order." Zane greeted with a smile right before Pixal fired a party popper beside him which made it rain confetti.

"Let's get this party started." Skylor called from the buffet table where she had insisted to provide food for the people.

Everyone went to do their own things. After barely escaping from all the festivity, I found myself on the highest balcony of the palace. I looked down at all the celebrations happening and was glad the people were finally allowed inside.

I felt free. The palace was now a place I could call home instead of a prison. 

"Mind if I join you, Princess?" I heard a familiar voice call from behind me which made me turn around and smile.

"Of course, Greenie. But I'm no longer a princess."

"You are to me." He grabbed my hand and twirled me around which made my dress flow around my feet. I laughed in response before wrapping my arms around his neck.

"My first decree as Empress, is that the Green Ninja must never leave my side again."

"I don't need any rules to do that." Lloyd playfully rolled his eyes before pulling me into a soft and gentle kiss. "You'll be a much better ruler than they were, Rumi."

"You think they're proud of me?" I asked and rested my head on his chest as we watched the sunset.

"Who? Your parents or the Emperor and Empress?"

"All of them."

"I'm sure they are, Ru. I know I am."

I looked up to see him wide a sheepish smile on his face. I stepped on my tiptoes before planting a kiss on his cheek.

"Do you think the ninja would ever find out we were faking it at first?"

"I doubt it." Lloyd laughed and met my eyes. "All they know, is that I'm crazy in love with you and that's not pretend."

"I've always been crazy in love with you too."

~~??'s POV~~ 

I look out from my place in the shadows at the celebrations happening inside the Palace of Secrets. I was given freedom. Freed at last from that wretched place! Ninjago City must get ready, a new ruler is about to rise. 

I can't believe I finished another book T^T 

Don't worry I am also crying that this book is finished but that's okay! It was bound to end at some point and I'm glad that it did here.
