After he turned around to face the Glee Clubbers, Mr. Schuester said to them, "Everybody loves movies. They don't just tell stories-- they transport us to other worlds. They are inspirational. They provide comfort, and they help us escape from our day-to-day anxieties."

It was then that Kitty asked him, "Like getting left at the altar?"

While Christian only rolled his eyes to himself with a sigh, Ryder said to her, "Too soon."

With a nod of his head, Mr. Schuester said to her, "Exactly. Or in your guys' case, studying for exams or... worrying about regionals. In any case, for this week's assignment, I want you to pick your favorite songs from your favorite movies."

While Christian slowly sat up in his seat with wide eyes, Wade said, "Unique knows all there is to know about The Crying Game."

Kitty replied, "You don't get dibs on Les Mis just because you are the poster."

It was then that Christian let out a groan when Sam said in the voice of yet another one of his impressions, "Finally I can do my Nicolas Cage impression. 'Oh, not the bees! No! The bees! No!"

With a sigh, Christian said to Sam, "Just for that, I feel like leaving the school to buy myself a slushy just so that I can toss it in your frickin' face."

While Sam looked over at Christian with furrowed eyebrows, Kitty told Sam, "That is the worst Nicolas Cage impression I've ever seen."

Then Artie asked him, "Do you even know who Nicolas Cage is?"

While Cameron chuckled to himself at the looks both Christian and Sam had on their faces, Mr. Schuester said to them, "Okay, it's not that simple, guys. This is a group competition-- boys against girls and we are doing mash-ups. Now remember, movies are visual. So it's not just about the singing-- it's about... performance, it's about theatricality, it's about the language of cinema."

As Artie started to wheel himself towards Mr. Schuester, he replied, "Preach. And as I move into production on my first micro-budget feature... I'm happy to offer starring roles to whichever team wins. No trailers, no per diem."

Then Mr. Schuester said, "Great. Okay. Well, everyone split up and start working on your song choices."

And as both Finn and Mr. Schuester walked out of the choir room, Christian started to list all of his favorite movie musicals of all time, which would include Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, Grease, Mary Poppins, Newsies, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Sister Act, and West Side Story.

As she looked around herself and at the other girls, Sugar said, "I hope they mash-up 'Batdance' with 'Howard the Duck'."

In response, Tina said to her, "Shh."

It was then that an intro to one of the songs started to play before Blaine sang, "Revvin' up your engine. Listen to her howling roar. Metal under tension, begging you to touch and go."
