CHAPTER TEN
HANDSOME STRANGERS
"you only exist in the dark of my room"
˚✧₊*⁎⁺˳✧༚

Aurora's eyes were glued to the mirror infront of her, her hands clenching the edge of a table as the servant behind her pulled forcefully on the string attached to the corset, making sure to tighten it. God how she hated this piece of crap. Usually Aurora didn't care much about her apparance. Sure, she was very aware that she was beautiful, but she rarely bothered going over the top to impress anyone.

Tonight was different.

The dress was a mixture of blues, most of it being a dark shade of navy blue. Her hair was loose in its curls, as per usual, and her face was decorated with makeup that enhanced her beauty. Staring at herself in the mirror, she could help the smirk growing on her face.

Hearing Greer gushing about Tómas had flipped some switch in Aurora. She'd had her fair share of. . . fun with boys before, and a familiar feeling was filling up her body. She had been watching Sebastian all day. Not in a creepy way. He just happened to step into her line of vision on several occasions. Aurora wasn't about to complain, or deny her attraction to him anymore.

When the servant finished tightening her corset and tied it, she was dismissed. Aurora spared one last look in the mirror before exiting her room. Kenna approached her from across the hall, a grin on display. "You look ravishing."

"Oh this? It's nothing." The girl grinned at the brunette, doing a spin.

"Who has gotten you dressing up all pretty? Don't tell, there's a boy?" Aurora had inspired Kenna to be more comfortable in her skin. The two didn't exactly see eye to eye all the time, but when it came to these types of things, they knew each other well.

"What? Can a lady, a princess, not dress to impress for an evening gathering hosted by the King?" Kenna arched a brow, locking arms with the princess.

"Of course, Rory. The court is swarming of very gorgeous Portuguese men. Surely one of them must've caught your eye." Kenna decided to drop the topic of a special someome, for now. Aurora wasn't budging. But she did have to push for the princess to look for a suitor. It was important that the princess wed someone of power, sooner rather than later. "Let's enjoy ourselves tonight. It's time."

The girls continued chatting as they headed over to the ballroom. Aurora wasn't quite familiar with the castle yet, but the loud music was a give away. Soon enough the two made an entrance. A few looks were spared at the two, but most people there were too hung up in themselves to even notice the princess and the lady. A certain blue eyed bastard did take notice to the apparance of the princess, though.
